You are fear mongering and blowing it way out of proportion for the shock and awe factor. Just stop.
Back in the 70's, it was all cars, trucks, semi's, construction equipment, factories and businesses contributing to "smog" in densely populated cities.
Factories and businesses have cleaned up (or shut down and moved to China).
Gasoline cars and trucks are extremely clean
Construction equipment just isn't numerous enough to make a difference.
And the modern diesel engine, even current deleted diesels with a proper tune, are much cleaner than the diesels of the 60/70/80's.

I'm sick of the USA citizen being forced to virtue signal to the rest of the world with expensive and unreliable emissions. China and India pollute more than the rest of the world combined.

This is going to be in courts for a long time. The EPA’s authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions has been reaffirmed multiple times by the Supreme Court. While there is certainly an opportunity for that to be reversed, this will play out in the courts for a while, maybe years.

So what does that mean?
No DPF on new trucks purchased after 2026?
Does it mean I can spend $5000 to have it removed from my 2023 truck and not face a fine?
If I remove it from my 2023 truck, Does that mean Ford will deliver a new Non-Emission calibration and install it for free? Or will I have to pay Ford Shop labor ffor a 12 hour download. After I pay to have all the parts swapped out.

It may mean something for future trucks after Ford has time to change the production line, But I really doubt Ford will retro change existing trucks

It ain't over until it's over.

And even then it may not be.

Just so glad I can legally get the DPF and Auto Stop/Start of my 2024 7.3.

Yeah... I imagine deleting is still not legal, and this will be in the courts so long it will be years before it would mean anything... and that's assuming that the next administration would leave it be...

As mentioned, this will likely be tied up in courts for some time. Manufacturers will likely be VERY slow to make any changes that remove these features, because it is HIGHLY likely that the next administration will simply reimplement it. I wouldn't get too excited about the possibility of all these changes being long-term.

So glad to know all of you want to return to the air quality of the 60's, 70's and 80's.

DPFs aren't going anywhere. They were in place during Bush II's presidency, not Obama's. Some restrictions may get relaxed to a degree, but in no way is deleting emissions equipment going to be legal or removed from vehicles being manufactured. Weight loss without fear of being tracked down and fined? Maybe. Legal to remove it all? Never.

Ah ok, it’s hard to tell sometimes when reading. Thought maybe he was hitting the bottle to hard.

Big businesses like factories, plants, trucking, trains, planes, commercial transportation and anything that produces pollution for profit should be regulated for pollution. Consumer or private non commercial vehicles should not be regulated for pollution. Don’t make the individual citizen who contributes a drop in the bucket in terms of pollution to bear the burden of dirty big businesses making huge profits from mass pollution.

Yes, But DEF wasn't. I'd be happy just getting rid of the DEF system and all of the associated problems that go along with it. including the DEF on my heavy equipment.

You all need to stop jumping the gun and read what this is, instead of looking at the surface headlines.

This does not apply to diesels, DEF, system etc.

As much as I wish it did!

The first clue being 2009......07 was the 1st year of DEF. The filter was even prior to that starting in the 80's for some.

And as far as I can tell, this repeal has has very little to do with diesel trucks.

won't this just push into the hands of the states?
what happens in 2029, when a new administration comes into play?
