Last Drive. Thanks FTE!

Folks, it's time to move along from my 6.0. I'm the original owner of a 2006 F250. It now has 220K on it and is in about as good condition as it could be at approaching 20 years old. Short of a couple of cracks in the seats, there are zero problems with it. It was time to move on and I would like to thank this community for it's wealth of knowledge and support. Without that support I don't think I could have kept "Maiter" running this long. You folks are awesome, and thank you from so much for the help and community support. I've thoroughly enjoyed this truck and it certainly has earned it's keep over the years even with the time I've spent literally inside the engine compartment changing dummy plugs or rings and all the other stuff that fails in there on too regular a basis. Fortunately I've never had to pull the heads, rebuild the transmission, oil cooler or even replace an injector. I think I've been pretty lucky with it as compared to some others. It runs perfectly right now so maybe I'll get it to a good home and gain a few dollars back. I'm going to sell it myself so wish me luck.

I now have a 2024 Lariat Coyote 5.0 with almost all the options. Let's just say the technology and comfort levels have come a long way in 20 years. So I'm not leaving FTE... just moving to another area.

Thank you FTE 6.0 Folks! Good luck with your awesome trucks.

Congrats on the new truck!
Pass along the URL to the forum here on to the buyer, tell them we'll help them keep it running as good as it has been for you. Heck, have them join here and we'll tell them exactly what to look for in your truck that you're hiding from them, because these are obviously the worst engines ever made

I've had a bunch of teen-20s guys asking about my trucks, most of them are surprisingly willing to take on 6.0s and see them as a good option that they can work on themselves, compared to the new space ship trucks. They all grew up on technology and aren't phased at all by running computer diagnostics. Lots of power, had good transmissions, and IMO the Gen 1/2 Super Duty is the best rolling chassis Ford ever made.

I like my coyote in my Mustang, it’s a good running motor. Good luck on your new truck. Hopefully the Ford electronics and bells and whistles are a little better than the Dodge…….

I've dealt with Modmotors for a very long time. I have a 2001 Bullitt NHRA car that went from a 4.6 2V to a Terminator motor so I know every nut bolt and screw on those powerplants. This is my first Coyote version of the ModMotor though but I have a lot of resources in that world that know and love them. I also have a 2016 SHO taurus with the large Ecoboost plant in it. It has been trouble free for 80K miles. But my thoughts are that the Ecoboosts are maxed out perfomance-wise and thus more likely to stay more stressed and fail sooner. I also know of the carbon buildup situation on those due to the direct injection being a problem late in life. The Coyote NA motor will be loafing. And who knows, maybe I'll want to slap a turbo on it as some point. It won't be running 8.6 @ 160 in the quarter mile like my Bullitt,.. but HP upgrades on the Coyote is an easy thing to do for a guy with a Bendpak in the garage. I have a very good friend with a mustang and I've already help him with Coyote upgrades as well as traction stuff on his daily driver. Really fun stuff that can get out of hand quickly. Please note my 8-sec Bullitt as a great example of that! LOL
