We've all paid our money and took our chances.

I suggest clicking here and reading through this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...used-6-0l.html

I definitely don't pretend to be an expert on these trucks but I did learn a lot when looking for mine. I was in the same boat kinda having second thoughts every time I read something, I don't know how much history you have with diesels but I'm having fun learning about all the different mods and aftermarket pieces and what to do/ not do with these trucks and if you're gonna be able to put time and money into it and it's not gonna make you mad every time something goes wrong, then find a decent one and buy it! History is a big plus I'v learned when it comes to buying one of these the more history you can get on it the better. I just bought an 05 f250 6.0 with 150,000mi two days ago after looking at it for a week finally just did it! These trucks like attention so if your good with that you'll have fun. Guys on here have been really helpful and know a lot.

I'm not going to talk you into it or out of it but I will say this. Just coming on the forum and reading, researching, & asking questions puts you ahead. Learn everything you can before making a purchase and check the pid readings with at least a Scan Gauge II to get an idea of the health.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Good call and that we have!

Some of us bought trucks in good shape and some of us others bought one that needed some love. Either way, they're solid now and awesome trucks!

To his point, I'd have a local FTE member inspect it before you buy it or at the very least ride along with you.

This is the biggest part to purchasing these trucks. I can never stress this point enough with people who have recently purchased or are looking to purchase a 6oh!!!

I post this same response in many "looking to buy" threads.

Great advice 87crewdually

Also, post pictures of the truck, and engine bay on the forum. Alot can be pointed out by a simple picture.

I think the OP has gone elsewhere... He started 2 similar threads, and the beginning post of each thread are his only 2 posts here -- no follow-up or answers to folks trying to help...

Sometimes that's just the way it goes....
