I don't do apps, decline the service, never update my phone, and i'll prolly take my tinfoil hat off when i remove the telematics module but...remote start is pretty handy in igloo land.

Ordered a 26 xl 4x4 6.8 with a few basics but did not get answers on if remote start available and the sales guy was surprised when i inquired about it, still offered on the xlt but it had way too many gizmo's for me to just be able to click on remote start option. Is there a lock unlock lock ability to unlock the feature or do i need to get some perimeter security module thingy and add some factory remotes with the right buttons i read about earlier or am i looking at aftermarket? Has anyone solved for this yet on a 2026 xl? It's weird as i saw a 2025 xl on lot and it had the option even though i don't think you could choose it from the online builder but it was on the window sticker - remote start.

 

Not sure about 2026 but I have a 2025 XL-STX F350 & remote start works from the keyfob or FordPass app.

Remote Start System 250.00 was a line item on the Monroney.

 

I had a 2017 f150 XL with no remote start bought a MPC others as well like start-X remote start from ebay, less then 5 minutes to install, plugs in on back side of obd2 port and comes with a program box to activate, works with oem ford fob, these seem to sell them for the f250's as well. its a car audio shop that started these kits. Just if you want a cheap option and so easy to install.

 

When you build a 2026 XL online it is offered for a $250 option.

Back to the top, i'll get my google fu going, i have a 24 maverick xl and got one of them start-X off amazon and works great although short range. Not finding remote start option so far for gas key ignition...if anyone finds something out holler, dealer dragging feet getting back to me with all the accessories i want to buy and answering my question on remote start options from factory and what i need to do (whether add perimeter plus thingy or what)?

 

I don’t know if the super duty are like the f150 but on my ‘24 f150 xl you could buy a oem key fob with remote start, have the key cut then program it to your truck using the 2 key method (insert 1 key, turn ign on, then off, insert key 2, turn ign on, turn off, insert new key, turn on, turn off…give 10 seconds and turn back on and remote was programmed)

 

I purchased a 2026 F-250 XL last month. Was a line item on the window sticker for $250.00 labeled "Remote start system". My key fob works fine to remote start along with the app if I'm too far. Hope that helps you.

 

The Canada thing may be the problem. I ordered our 2025 F-250, and added the remote start... $250... no problemo. Quite honestly, not having remote start would have been a deal-breaker with the Mrs... it's the reason we didn't buy an F-150.
