Remote start

Will the remote start on my 2024 Lariat still function after one year using the Ford App or will I have to pay a subscription fee?

2026 rates are:

0.79 per start, 0.12 to extend
0.26 per lock

^ LOL!

@RandyinTN - Basic commands like remote start/stop, lock/unlock, etc., will continue to work. The only things you need subscriptions for are the things under the 'Connected Services' section

These rates are doubled in Tennessee.

I’ve been waiting for them to start charging for FordPass. Especially after ditching the keypads.

None of my FCA vehicles have let you remote start from the app without their paid subscription. I am shocked Ford does not do the same.

On my 2025, it's the Ford Security Package...theft alerts, stolen vehicle services, deductible reimbursement, start inhibit. Free for one year, then subscription after that.

Log in and take a look! For my '26 F350, I see:

Ford Connectivity Package
Ford Security Package
Connected Navigation

In other Ford/Lincoln vehicles there are additional services. For example, my 2021 F150's BlueCruise subscription was managed there. I think the Mach-E has a "Performance Upgrade" package.

Good thing Ford isn't doing the same thing as Toyota, a friend has to pay for remote start.

Actually a bit shocking you don't have to pay for it. It obviuosly costs them. I guess that's part of the $80-100k price tag.

Actually, no. When you allow Ford to connect to your truck, via enabling the app, they get to mine your data. I requested a copy of the data they pulled from my truck (before I shut off connectivity) and it was over 200 pages long.

Could not possibly care less about what vehicle data they collect.

When something is free, you’re the product.

Its shocking how much data manufactures collect from modern cars, and even more disturbing how much they could collect if they were so inclined.

its only a matter of time before insurance companies get on board and the manufactures start feeding them with driving telemetry. Or even law enforcement.

im sure it’ll come in the name of “common sense” safety reform…
