Perhaps you could work out a sensible solultion with the service manager: Use the truck until the day of scheduled service. Depending on the relationship, the dealer may want some type of deposit to make certain you show up when the repacement parts arrive so the dealer isn't stuck with them.
They won’t release it to me since some parts have been taken off according to them.

The best way to find out this if that’s true is surprise visit the dealership and demand that you want to see your vehicle
you do not have to get your vehicle fixed by that dealership you could bring your vehicle to another dealership or you could tell them to tell it to another dealership why you do not want them to work on it
I had a problem with a previous truck F150 hybrid had a transmission problem, I went to three different car dealerships and two of them would not give me a loaner, but the third one did and I had the loaner for close to 2 1/2 weeks
The two dealers I did go to were small. The third one was a bigger dealership. Which they gave me the loaner truck with no problem.

Is this why dealers cant schedule work anymore?
I scheduled, 2 weeks in advance, an H pipe with Cats replacement at 800am. At 1030 a tech comes to me and says theres a huge hole in my Cat pipe. Im like, no $<=>*$& $#(+, really? Why isnt it fixed yet?
Had to order one. Should have been ordered 2 weeks ago. When It came in, we already had the truck fixed and back on the road. "Thanks for wasting our time. Hopefully youll waste just as much restocking that pipe." Took our 50 truck biz elswhere.
Chances are, your truck is already half disassemmbled. Cab off, sitting outside. Dealerships are a dying entity. Theyll be gone soon. Plenty of auto manufacturers have a warranty network outside of dealers now.

So… 2024 6.7 HO, 3500 miles
Went in for a small once a day oil drip. Just got a call from the dealer that they are ordering me a new engine!
Service advisor told me the Oil galley plug (on left side I believe) was Cross threaded from the factory and causing the little leak that I had. Can’t they rethread and insert a new plug? i’m just not understanding how a cross threaded oil galley plug that is causing a small drip requires an entire engine replacement.
No loaners available, they are on a 3 month wait list, I use my truck for work and now I’m 🤬🤬🤬
Only option is to go rent one for the next 3 weeks or so at $600 a week.
WTH
@Frank79 I'm curious to know what how that oil leak manifested...were you seeing small drips under the engine bay or was there oil mixed with condensate puddles?

I noticed a few drips of oil on the driveway. I thought it was from my old truck. I then I took a piece of paper towel and put it over the oil spots, came out the next morning and I had fresh oil on top of the paper towel. that confirmed my suspicion.
You use your truck for work? But dont have a spare?
Not a good buisness plan. Modern trucks have the lowest reliability, and slowest repairs, of all time. And its going to get worse as other, better industries, scalp all auto/diesel techs into far better paying jobs, that are far less stressful.
Feel the frustration
January last year they had it 2 weeks to replace harness es. Under hood from a squirrel at thier lot
Had 2 program vehicles free
but you must have one flucked up dealer
Rhrn in feb they had my truck 4 weeks, whole new transmission and assorted gear
Guess how many rentals I paid for.......? None
The dealer provided me program vehicles and each 6 or 7 days they came to my house to swap out the next weeks vehicle.
I only covered fuel
Surely in florida they had program vehiclevehooe your new engine is perfect
