After an oil change I realized oil was leaking form my drain plug. It looked like the oil change guy over turned the plug and mushroomed the copper washer. After going to Ford and getting a new plug I took it back to the oil change place and they hooked a vacuum to the oil full cap, pulled the old plug and put on the new one. Turns out the old plug was stripped out causing a slow leak. The vacuum trick was pretty cool FYI if your find yourself in this situation
another example of why I WILL NEVER LET ANYONE BUT ME WORK ON MY TRUCK. There is no reason in the world why someone should over tighten the drain plug that much that it strips the threads out. your lucky they didn't ruin the threads on the oil pan itself...
Yeah like Scaler said... I don't let anyone but me work on my truck. I have a guy that I take my truck to if I don't want to tackle a job, but usually I do it all in my driveway... or my buddy's pole barn
