Marti Report Question?

HI everyone I'm New to the forum but I've used this site for a ton of helpful information so far and finally joined. I recently learned about Marti reports and got one however I was curious why it doesn't say my truck has Quad front shocks under the equipped section? For some back ground on my truck, its a 79 flareside that my grandfather bought from a neighbor in 1980 when it had less then 15k miles. My gramps was the kind of guy to shove a rag if a gas cap fell off or use bailing wire to hold something on instead of repair it. He 100% did not and would not make any modifications to the truck that were mechanical. My father made the racks on the truck when he was in high school for a 60s f150 and put them on this truck when they sold it. According to my dad and his brother the racks , a step to get in and poorly welding a hitch to pull a livestock trailer were the only " modifications " that was ever done to the truck. Both my dad and uncle were adults when my grandfather bought the truck and they both knew the original owner until he passed away. I got the truck when my grandfather passed and not was starting to work on fixing/restoring it. When it came to the shocks they still have the factory motocraft springs and shocks from the 70s. truck almost never saw pavement, was used constantly in heavy off road, ranch and woodcutting. (hence the racks) .

Tldr: truck has factory shocks springs and mounts still but Marti report doesn't show it came with quad front shocks. Anyone know why?

Dealer installed?? Installed by a previous?
I had a 1989 Bronco with the quad shocks but can't remember how the brackets were attached.
Kevin gets his info directly from Ford so maybe Ford didn't supply with all of the info.
Its my understanding that he accesses the info directly from Ford files.
I would contact him directly and ask him and supply with with your vin# in your email.

Had to have been dealer installed, because we knew the original owner made 0 changes to the truck since he bought it, then he sold it to my grandfather 1 year of owning it who did not make any changes except the racks, hitch and the slide to step into the truck.

Might have been standard on the 4x4 model.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post17821693

No mention there of them being optional vs. standard.

But here, the guess is they were part of a package--your report shows "Handling package":

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...nt-shocks.html

This post says Handling Package had the quad front shocks:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ml#post4748357

This thread and this post in particular again reference the Handling Package as the source for quad front shocks:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...l#post17969718

So your report mentions the handling package which we are all expected to know includes the quad shock setup.

Note the post above has the window sticker--before they explained on the sticker what the option package was all about.

Ohh Ok that would make sense if it was part of a package

Here are the differences between these models. I also have found out that for the 78/79 Bronco it was available as a Custom or Ranger XLT model only. They did not offer the Ranger package only on the Bronco.
Now this is for 78/79 Bronco's....
Performance Package:

Quad front shocks (gas filled) .$74.00
Handling package (rear sway bar, quad shocks up front and dual gas filled rear shocks)
Automatic trans
600 watt engine heater
Heavy duty suspension (HD front springs, HD rear springs and front sway bar)
Rear sway bar
Gauges (oil and amp)
32 gallon gas tank with skid plate
Skid plates for 25 gallon tank and T-case
Trailer towing package

As others said, "Handling Package" is the answer. Went down a rabbit hole on these things some years back when I bought my '79 F-150 that had Camper Special badges.

I had a 1989 Bronco with the quad shocks. I bought the Bronco used and not too long after it rolled over 100,000 miles so I decided it was due for new shocks.
I like keeping my Fords all Ford for as long as I can so I ordered new Motorcraft shocks for it.
At the time I was buying Motorcraft 10% under stocking jobber, less than parts stores were paying.
The 4 Motorcraft shocks cost me over $400 and this was back around 1997-98 and they didn't make any difference. LOL
Even with over 100k on the OE shocks there was nothing wrong with them, I had just thrown $400 in the garbage.
