Hey yall, 1983 Ford f250 here: i bought a buzzer to try to fix the one in my truck and i cant figure it out. There’s like 8 different forms telling me 6 different things. I just need to know weather or not I need to replace 1 or 2 buzzers? No sound when the key is in the ignition or when the lights are on. Found a small green buzzer behind the glovebox, but the part I bought (that’s supposed to fit) is a white box with a different pin setup. Did I buy the wrong part or is there 2 separate buzzers that need to both be replaced?
I dont think there are 2 separate boxes just 2 different boxes depending how the truck was built and I think that may go by years, again not sure.
Now the only time my buzzer sounds is when I first turn the key to on or start it and the seat belt light is on.
BTW belt is not clicked yet as I do it after I back out of the garage or after I start it in a parking lot as I cant reach the parking brake with the seal belt on.
When the seat belt light goes out the buzzer stops.
I do wish at times when I leave the head light on a buzzer would sound as I run with the head lights on when pulling the car clubs trailer like Sunday.
I think that is where the other box comes in in the later years, mine is a 81 F100 Custom.
Do you have the seat belt wire plugged in? It is on the left side on the floor at the rear corner of the seat..
After I got my truck back on the road and the belt plugged back in it did not work for a while then 1 day it just started.

I've also got an '83 F250; it does have two separate buzzer units.......
One for 'light switch on/door open'.
One for 'ignition on/drivers belt not latched' (the seatbelt warning light shines simultaneously). This is meant to sound for 8 seconds after turning the ignition on.......it seemed like about 1.5 hours due to the horrific tone of the buzzer . I disconnected it behind the seat.
I have an '80 F-150. It has two buzzers located above the glove box door. One is white, the other is green. I'm tempted to remove them........
They do have different wiring connectors.
How many wires / pins are on the 2 plugs?
When I had everything stripped from both of my 2 - 81 F100's (custom & Ranger) only the Ranger had a buzzer for seat belt only no head light buzzer.
If I ever have my dash / glove box out again I will have to give a look see if there is another plug for the head light buzzer.
