When I got the truck last year, I added mystery oil to the cylinders and was able to turn over the engine no problem. I sent out the fuel pump, distributor, and carburetor and reinstalled. I took the fan off and cleaned that all up and reinstalled.
When I try to turn the truck over by hand now I can't move it. It seems like I am only tightening to bolt. What could I be doing wrong?
I don't like to use marvel mystery oil for long-term preservation storage and what not. It's more of like a penetrating oil. It could be probable that the marvel mystery oil cleaned things up and then after sitting locked up again.
Do yourself a favor and remove the spark plugs which should release all compression, and with the spark plugs still out, see if you can rotate the engine without fighting compression.
Removing belt would only help if water pump or generator are froze up.
Silly question…..do you have the truck in neutral?
No silly questions.... BUT.. not sure if making sure it was in neutral or the PB blast I sprayed in but it is all good now! thanks guys once again. Now I have to work on the timing.
