The last time I the truck running, it died without warning. I figured it was out of gas. There's also the possibility of a fuel delivery problem due to ethanol eating things like it did with the carburetor when I first got the truck. Anyhow, I put in a piston stop to find TDC to check the timing the other day, turned the crank clockwise with a fair bit of difficulty til it hit the stop. When I tried to turn it counterclockwise to get back around to the other side of TDC there was so much resistance I actually broke the crank bolt loose. I don't think I've ever had an engine that hard to turn before. But it can't be locked up if I can turn it by hand at all. I'm not sure if I have an actual problem. So I'm looking for some outside thoughts on the matter. And any ideas on how to turn the engine the other way without just breaking the bolt loose.
Sometimes old gas can lock a valve stem. You sure your not bending push rods? Start fine run fine for 30 minutes then locks up. It can happen. Just saying.
