OK,
Here's my latest mystery. This 1952 F2 only came with one tailgate chain.
Both brackets on the bed however are intact.
Looking at replacement chains online...the ones listed for 1952 do NOT look like this:
Instead, what is listed looks like this:
The first link with the divider that I have seems to be listed for 49-50 trucks. But that sucker is welded on and the bracket is riveted on.
I doubt it got there after the fact (anything is possible though).
Different year F1's have different chains, and F2-3's are larger than F1 chains. AFAIK they are not reproduced. You'll need to find someone with used to sell/barter/trade/give you.
as far as the cover goes I believe the 51/52 came with that vinyl grooved rubber cover. That was unique. Call Chuck to see if has any leads on used chains or can get you the correct cover if you want it. Chucks Trucks LLC chuck4850@outlook.comchuck4850@outlook.com *(203) 288-2769
