Turning engine by hand

how exactly do you do it? Im replacing fuel pump and don't wanna lose the old tappet

Look for the marker on the balancer from the crankshaft. turn it with a 15/16 to where the mark is at about 11:00. I did not remove my fan blade shroud or fan blade to do this, just wedged my hand up in there and turned.
