Plown Plug

Hi Folks, I have a 2003 ford Excursion xlt 6.8 v10. So I used one of the cheap Heli coil kits to fix my blown spark plug. It was a 14mmx1.25 kit. It gave way. My problem is the Spark Plug hole thread have been totally messed up. My question is do I go with a M16x1.5 over size or is there something else I can do? I think this is my last shot to fix the head before replacement of heads (which I really do not want to do now). Any help would be appreciated. Also which is the best repair kit. Vince.

Time-cert has an oversized insert designed just for such situations, and they are (one of) the proper repair methods for blown plugs, helicoils are not.
