Ok, I have a little update. I know you’ve all been waiting with bated breath 😁.
No word yet on my offer but, I did talk with DMV today about what I have to do to register the truck if I get it.
They said, if it was registered in CT. all I have to have is the last registration, a bill of sale, proof of insurance and an ID. That’s it.
I will have all of that. All I need is them to except my offer. 👏
Oops, I didn’t mention I offered $13K.
I think 13K is very generous for that truck. If they say no, run for the hills. To get that road ready with a 13K price, you will be over 16K in my opinion (if you do all the work yourself). Just rebuilding that front axle is going to be over 1K, not to mention brakes, lines and a turn up. Nothing is cheap and parts aren't easy to come by now.

I agree, it will be a challenge but, I would be doing most of the work myself and I think when I`m done, it will be worth more than what I`d have into it. The pics really don't do it justice.
I`ve been seeing these trucks go for in the $30K range. Not that I would be selling. My granddaughter just got her DL and she loves going to car shows.
Just realize, what you put into it you will never get back. Once you figure in your time, you wont believe have much you really have invested. My project is more about the actual truck and work, I would never get back what I have into it! And that is with me doing everything except the block boring, Crank polish and resizing the connecting rods.
Yes, I know. I have a 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS that I restored. They are a money pit but, I will never sell that either.
I did most of the work myself,
except paint. But I did buff it.
So if you get the truck, how far are you going to go? That frame needs attention for sure, it's so much easy to do with the body off? Are you planning to go that route?
Yes, I am. I would take the body off and blast the frame and paint it, do all the fuel and brake lines and wiring, the exhaust. The whole 9 yards.
It looks bad in the pics but, in person, it looks like only surface rust and the there is an under coating that`s peeling off that makes it look bad.

You can watch the auctions like Bring A Trailer and also see these trucks that folks have put good work into with solid frame and clear title go for less than $20k. I'd spend more for a better starting point.
FE390 is spot on with title concerns. While you may be able to get it registered where you are, in a lot of states if there was any kind of dispute they will look for the official VIN on the frame. You really should have the title for the frame that starts with F26.
