Good evening all, can’t locate what I’m looking for, I Called around to tire shops n got the run around.
I have a 2013 super duty f350 4x4 with 17” wheels. I like the stock aluminum wheels, so what I would like to know is what size tire above stock can I go with the stock wheels. One guy I spoke to said there are spacers that allow you to go larger. I’m not looking to go huge. What I want to do is lift the front I think 2” or whatever it takes to level the truck. So regarding the tires I just don’t want them to look tiny. I also want to maintain the stock wheels because it gives me a larger sidewall. I will be towing a large 5th wheel.
If not a dually, looks like 285/70-17 is your best option, but run it through a tire size calculator. My 285/75-16's were only 1" taller, but bigger everywhere else too. They've been perfect on my stock rims.
Review below for the same question you had. The fact you have an F350 should give extra clearance too (vs F250), might be able to with a 295.
Thanks for the correction, I did leave out that it is a dually. My other concern would be the rear tires rubbing against each other, especially with a heavy 5th wheel
Same concept applies, what's your stock tire. Go to one or two of the specific tire manufacturers you're thinking about and see what tires sizes they offer(larger than stock). Search up on Google: ie. 2013 F350 dually 4x4 largest tire on stock rim.
Can't see it being an issue, going 1 or 2 sizes up.
1 or 2 sizes would be about the MAX bigger I'd go on a dually, before you have to start playing around with aspect ratios. You're correct to worry about the sidewalls rubbing together when towing, and if you go too large you will NEED to run spacers to give enough clearance. That said, I think most spacers out there warn that your payload is decreased when running spacers, but I don't personally know by how much.
Not apples to apples, as mine is an 02 F350 DRW/4x so a bit older than yours, but, when I bought it it had 315/75/16's on stock rims, once I wore those out I went with 285/75/16's and they looked a little small, wore those out and went back to 315's or 35's, the original owner had 1" wheel spacers in the rear and I have kept those on with the 315's. In 2022 when I was due for new tires, I couldn't get 315's so I am back to 285's or 33's.
I have towed with both sizes and didn't notice any difference, I have the 4.10's with the 7.3, and I find the 315's to be in better rpm range for the engine, IME

The standard tire for a 2013 DRW is 245/75/R17 and if you try and put larger tires on the stock rims there's one big problem. The rims are 6" and if you get any we bigger tire they probably won't be recommended for use on a 6" rim.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I do currently have 245x17x17. I don’t know they are 6” wide, they seem to be wider, I’ll do some research, really don’t want to change the wheels out. Thnx again.
