When ours wore out at 50k miles I came on this site asking questions about it
I was told the trucks computer applies the rear brakes at times for stability control thus the reason they wear faster than older models
Last week local weather shifted from single digit temps to mid forties. I finally was able to look at the rear brakes. The right rear caliper was seized and the inboard pad was gone. Metal on metal. I am waiting on a FedEx delivery of calipers, rotors and pads as I write this.
It's embarrassing to admit I was fooled into believing the problem HAD to be with the front brakes. I guess after 45+ years of shadetree wrenching I was overdue a rookie screwup.
Happened to me. When driving I was 100% certain my brake noise was coming from thr right front brake. Checked the right front brakes, then the left fron - everything was perfect. Then had my wife move the truck back and forth and apply the brakes while I stood outside and immediately could tell it was the left rear. Felt pretty dumb!
