Just wanted to provide an update, I kicked off a manual regen yesterday and all the code cleared. Not sure if that helps with the diagnosis at all, but it does seem that a stationary regen (which is what the dealer did to "fix" it for ~350 dollars) has some impact on the sensor status.
I've done a manual regen before, but, this time, for fun, I watched the clock. Took just under 2 minutes to kick it off. 359 dollars for 2 minutes work, seems like a good day to me!
