Anyone ever got the P24C6 code?

Yesterday, my truck went through a DEF regen and today I got a P24C6 code. It says it is a DTC P24C6 (particulate matter sensor temperature circuit) error. According to the service manual it says to replace particulate matter bank 1 sensor 1. Hoping this will be covered under the emissions warranty.

Anyone run across this? Probably not, since a search for P24C6 came up empty.

My PMS sensor used to go nuts once a month, I told my wife it was her fault. She didn’t think it was funny......

Sorry, I couldn’t resist

Thanks Larry. It's funny that it happened the day after a regen. Also, it sounds like it is peculiar to 2015 models.

Just got back from the Dealer. The mechanic said he ordered a particulate matter sensor and it will be in tomorrow. The good news is that it won't cost a thing. They said it is covered under the powertrain warranty.

Update: The sensor came in Tuesday and I went back to the dealer to get it installed. Should be easy as it's in the tailpipe and you just unplug and unscrew. Wrong! The sensor bolt broke during remove. Now, I also needed a new tailpipe. Of course, if I was doing this, I would have drilled out the old one. The tailpipe didn't come in until Thursday and I was busy. Took the truck back to them on Friday. Got new sensor in a nice new shiny tail pipe. My baby is all better!

I just bought a 2019 Lariat on Friday and as soon as I drove off the lot the check engine light came on. Dealer told me to bring it in on Tuesday to get the code cleared and they found out it was the particulate matter sensor. Had to order me one and should be ready today....truck only has 500 miles on it!! It only had 250 on it when the check engine light came on. Will let you all know what happens!!

Likely a faulty sensor from the start and someone just cleared the code before handing you the keys.

Welcome to the forum, Toddwoolf and congrats on your new truck. Maybe, since yours is new, they can just unscrew the sensor and screw in a new one. I haven't had anymore trouble with mine, but I've only put about 6K miles on it since the tailpipe was replaced.

Hi everybody
This afternoon my trucks MIL came on as I was swapping trailers around . Turned the truck off and 10 min later restarted and the light was off.
I scanned the truck with my obd2 reader and found the p24c6 code.
We have a trip planned tomorrow, 200 miles round trip
Pulling the horse trailer, about 6000 lbs.
I don't think driving it will do any harm.
Do you think I am right?
Replays welcomed. Thanks
Am I Wrong?
Tommorow I will call the dealer to set up a time to look at it.
