2017 F250 4x4 E-Locker Switch Remove/Replace

Hey all, new here. I searched for similar threads here and Google but came up blank using multiple keyword searches.

I used my e-locker switch last night and when done pushed it back in but the light stayed on...and rear diff is definitely locked. Can push the button and bezel and it goes away if held in. I'm certain the switch broke at the top screw as the bezel doesn't fit tight to the dash now.

Looking for the best way to remove and replace the 4x4 e-locker switch? Is it a fair guess the switch is held in with locking tabs to the opening? If so is it easiest to break the bezel to get to the tabs? Or is there some other far too complicated way this switch is mounted and different route required to remove?
Thanks in advance!
Britt

man that's a bummer - how often do you use this e locker? I have a 2017w/ locker and hope this won't be me soon. seeing where the switch is you may need to take apart the dash and get to it form the back -

In the meantime I suggest unplugging the connector at the rear diff to disable the locker so you’re not driving around with it locked. I’m sure there are other ways to disable it but the connection at the diff may be the easiest to identify and disconnect.

Thanks for the comments...I'll try to answer them and give an update. I don't use the e-locker often. Had a sheet of ice at the farm I had parked it on and was curious to see how it does by itself, vs with 4x4 vs 4x4 alone. The cheap plastic did me in! Its been parked since but needs to be operational tomorrow with 6+" of snow headed in. Dealership said they'd take $275 for labor, plus $105 part cost!

It is held in by 3 plastic spring tabs but you can't get to them because of the bezel. I wasn't about to tear apart the dash for something that was broke anyway...so I pried on it at the top and bottom of the bezel until it came apart...and then the spring tabs were easily accessible! New one on the way and will be back in tomorrow. Pic for shear satisfaction of not spending $275 labor and that it appears a lot of thought was put into how it operates.
