Eaton axle lube question

I'm seeing varying opinions about Eaton 2 speed rear end lubrication. I have a 1980 Ford LN800 with a single axle 2-speed electric rearend. I see in the manual that it has a couple of clutches within the assembly. Does this rearend need a friction additive such as sta-lube added? Also, do I need to find 80w-90 GL4 for it? Thanks for any advice.
