Hey all.
I've got a question. I recently bought a Jeep CJ5 that's got a Ford power plant, C6 automatic and transfer case. I also think it's got Dana 44's. My first of many questions to come is this.
The motor codes out to be a 302 from a 1974 Maverick. What's odd is the oil pan on it seems to be from a 1966-1970 Bronco 289 / 302. I can't find one for sale or in stock anyplace. Is it an actual bronco pan? And my question is, can I just order a standard 302 oil pan or does it have to use this pan? I have absolutely no clearance issues. I'm needing a new one because, as you can see, it's welded badly and I believe the flange has too much abuse for a good seal.
I'm hoping you guys can help me out because this jeep has been a dream of mine to own and I love Ford's. So it was an amazing find. The PO just hacked it all together, so I'm hoping to lean on you guys as I work through this thing.
Thanks for any help or advice.
