One month to get the VIN from order date, two months to build week. F450 Platinum
I followed factory shortages and made sure to remove the ones I could easily add later. I remove the spray-in bed liner and it was scheduled the next week. It is limited
in availability and can be added later.

dmd,
First of all congrats and please keep us posted!!! I would love to hear the exact options you ordered on your 2025 f450 and if your dealership told you about their allocation status when you ordered? I had a 2024 f450 Lariat on order that never got built and transitioned my ordered to a 2025 f 450 Platinum on 11/27/24 and have had the order confirmed but then crickets. I removed the spray in bed liner two weeks ago because of the availability concerns. I ask about the allocations because my dealer doesn't seem to clearly communicate if they have one for my order or not!!! Very frustrating. Thanks very much.
Yea, they are pretty vague on the allocations. All I could get was that they had plenty of them. My dealer has a giant lot of chassis cabs, always many Superduty pickups in a side lot, and a line along the front road. If yours just has mostly cars then they probably dont have many slots. Now this is Texas, so every dealer has Superdutys...
I didnt get many options over the Platinum
- Ruby Red
- HO engine
- Aux Heat (was only about $120 more than just getting the dual alt)
- Front wheel liners
- Upfitter switches
Didnt get: (skipping the additional weight they add too)
- FX4 ( only get some thin plates with it, dullys dont get locking rear, not sure who would take a f450 "off road" with the commercial tires that cant be deflated below 90-lbs, dont need stiffer shocks that are junk anyways)
- Dual pane roof (they are way hot in Texas and a safety concern in accidents)
- 2k onboard power (It adds two more batteries under the rear seat and a 24v large alternator. I can add a lighter weight inverter in the future if needed as I have dual alts to power it)

Thanks for the fast reply. I agree with your options and have selected pretty much the same for weight considerations. Pulling a 5th wheel and on highway and did go for the FX4 only to get the undercarriage protection because have had issues with debris on the highway. Sunroofs are heavy and leak!!! Love the HO 6.7!!!

love the color , of course I had a 2020 Platinum I just sold .
This was the day I sold it . I had it ceramic coated and had xpel film on front end and dually flares a week after I bought it . It really made it look like new 74,000 miles later .
I thought of the FX4, but on my F150 it only added a thin plate under the transfer case, and a thin one under the tank. Everything else was
just exposed. I figured if I decide I needed them I can add better for less. I added a thick one under the catalytic converters that protects
most of the transmission too.
Does it have more than that on the f450? Too late now though..
OH, and really nice looking red f450, they are in short supply here so I bet it sold quick. We really didnt want a red truck, but didnt want a black one or the
other colors offered. So with the 2025 ditching the chrome and blacking out/painting most everything, we figured red and black would be OK.

We loved the red , sold our big 5thwheel so we didn’t need the 450 anymore. I bought the 2020 F450 Platinum with just about everything offered in 2020 except the moonroof. Being in Texas I didn’t want that option and didn’t miss it once I got the truck. We paid about 85k in 2020 and sold it for 62k with 74,000 miles on it . It was a flawless truck. I ordered a f350 KR long bed with 7.3 gas this go around. Hope you enjoy your truck.
Lots of people are posting their order dates and their scheduled build dates, but I was curious what the average shipping time is right now. My vehicle is scheduled for the week of February 10th, but how long does it typically take to arrive at the dealer once shipped? I am located in Michigan, so I wasn't sure if it will still ship via rail, or if they ship via car carrier for midwestern states.
The transit time can obviously vary, but just trying to pass the time while waiting for my truck. If I wasn't scanning the forums, I would likely be shopping for more mods .

Usually around 30 days from built start to delivery
Mine shipped from Louisville the day after it was built... by rail.. 18JAN, headed to Dallas. I don't know where it wound up, but it appears it was pulled off the train on 26JAN (update posted, but still 'in transit.') They are projecting delivery to the dealer 4FEB-10FEB, which is a huge window. Seems to me they could have put it on a carrier and it would have been to the dealer in less than a week.

i have the same build week for my truck but I’m in Texas . My last truck I ordered was build mid December and I picked it up first week in January. I’m hoping for same turnaround.
I had the same situation. Ordered last June. Rolled over to 2025. This week I gave up, drove 1000 miles to a different state to buy one.... Should have done that months ago.
Edit- I thought I was quoting a post. I ordered a 450 platinum June 19 of 2024. Nothing. Switched to a 2025. Still nothing. I suspect that my local dealer has insufficient allocations for 450's.

Reason: lack of quote
26 is my 3 year cycle and if ford keeps giving less in packages for more money i may have to look at a Denali, don't want to but ford is slipping big time with this
I made the decision recently that for towing reasons I need to be back in a SuperDuty, so I ordered my new truck. Much to my surprise, my order was picked up and scheduled to be built in only 3 days! I think I just hit the lottery!
