Welp, now I am depressed. I ordered my F350 on 5-8. Salesman said it is taking 6 to 12 weeks for orders to deliver... I believed him, this thread does not.
My dealer gave me an estimate of 6 to 8 months. He called me to tell me it would be delivered end of this month and told me it was the fastest he has seen a Super Duty go through their dealer in as long as he can remember. I guess they are really trying to bust these out before July line clear.
Our salesman said it would take about 12 to 16 weeks to get our F450 XLT. He place the order on the 14th and I got the build date of week of June 9th the next morning. Kind of shocked to tell you the truth.
Placed my 2025 F-450XL order on 2-10-25. I r
eceived email on April 28th about Ford working on the scheduled build date but so far nothing has scheduled. Will I need to place an order for a 2026 F-450 when the order banks open or will my 2025 transfer over if my original build is cancelled?

Your best bet is to order a 2026 the minute the order banks open up. If you 2025 gets built you can always cancel your 2026 order with no penalty, or at least any upstanding dealership should have no problem with this strategy. From the video, it will NOT automatically move to a 2026 order, you need to order it.
For all of you who are lamenting that your truck is taking two, three or four months to build. I finally got a build date last week - eight months after placing the order!

I mean in reality the only people who seem to have huge waits are F450 people.

You could be right, in which case it begs the question, what options or components on F450s are a hold up. That said, I also don't seem to be seeing many folks taking delivery of King Ranch trim in any chassis size. The impression I get is that folks interested in higher trim levels just gravitate to the Platinum, so maybe there just aren't that many orders for KRs.
When I first received the email telling me my truck was scheduled for production, it was for the week of 9 June. Then, when I went back in to check the schedule a couple of days later, it had been pulled in to 26 May. We'll see if that holds.

while going through this process and researching etc it seems like F450, King Ranch, and Platinum Plus are usually like 2% of production every production schedule. So if you couple two of those together it’s exponentially less likely to get built in my mind.

Not true. Waited six months to get an F350. Have been following this thread for a while and from what I can decipher Ford was going through some commodity issues between October and March. Based on the latest comments, seems like they may have finally got a handle on that? Met someone who got a loaded F450 DRW Platinum in 8 weeks,

I was going to add this. When ordering an F-450, do people not understand the typical wait time compared to a similarly optioned F-350?
There are variables and uncertainties in every order. It is clear to anybody that looks at historical data that an F-450 however adds a tangible delay.

So you think that historically a similarly optioned F-450 has a similar delivery timeline as and F-350 DRW? Yes or no?

You are probably right about that. When I ordered my 2017 F450 KR it took a long time as well. I can't say exactly how long, but I know I took delivery in May for that one. I figure I kind of have the trifecta of things working against me. First, it's an F450. Second, it's a King Ranch. Third, it's Darkened Bronze Metallic. I wonder how many of that combination Ford makes in a year? Plus, I loaded it with pretty much everything a Platinum would have. But hey, I just turned 74 yesterday and this will almost certainly be my last truck, so I ordered what I wanted.
Their building them quick this year.I ordered 450 Platinum on Nov 5th, the store manager physically ordered it that day as a priority 03,Nov 06th got a email from Ford saying they received the order, Nov 06 got another email from Ford saying they will be building it on Dec 16th and issued me a VIN #.Called the dealer in disbelief, he said yes it's true, received the same info.Must have caught it just when they were going to build 450s, thought it was going to be at least a 4/6 month build.
We are looking at a F450 as well. I reached out to my local dealer to discuss it and he said that his dealership gets F450 or F550 chassis cab on "allocation" and the last request took 18 months to fill.
That seemed crazy to me. Is that nonsense or are they really built and given to dealerships on allocation?
You seemed to get yours in a normal amount of time, about what I would expect. Maybe certain dealers are set aside of F450s and F550s?
I'm new to the Ford world, so just curious what is normal.
