Another good tip, don't put it all together, fill it up with oil, and find the tone ring laying there...
Sounds like a lesson learned from experience.
I replaced the camshaft and lifters in a gm 6.0 recently. Fiddled with timing the crank and cam for like 45 minutes. Got timing good, put everything back together again, fired it up, and the cam walked and bent an intake valve...I forgot to torque down the cam bolt...tear everything back down and get the head repaired. Way easier to take your time and double check everything.
Update: picked up a 2017 Expedition at auction for a family rig, it had the OEM clutched LS that was making a racket. Changed out fluid w/ friction modifier, didn't help, so ended up ordering a Truetrac for that rig as well.
Spent the last two days and swapped out the F250 and the Expedition.
Expedition was crappy with the IRS, no access to the differential, so the whole pumpkin comes out. Easier to install the carrier for sure when it's out. Original shims worked and gave same backlash, so that was easy.
Backlash on the F250 was originally 14 thousandths, original shims would not work with the Truetrac, so had to pull it and reshim three times, called it good when I got it to right around 11 thousands backlash. Hopefully that's kosher. No whine from it, so hoping it's good.
I would if I could find it, but it's like it doesn't exist. It doesn't even show up in my apps list in the app manager, but when I long press the icon it pops up settings and info tab. I clicked the info and it claims I downloaded it from Google Play Store. I vaguely remember downloading it after being prompted several times a week or 2 ago.
I can't find it on any app store although if I do a Google search it shows this ....
Which would indicate that I'm already using the app, I think I downloaded it many years ago, but there's no option for changing the display to include signatures, if i go to the bottom of the homepage I can choose between the mobile version & the desktop but that only changes the view of the homepage not the rest of the forum, I'm using an Android phone so I don't know maybe it's different with fruit based products....
