I've got a Detroit Truetrac on the way. Hoping the days of putting it in 4 wheel to get out of a mud puddle are done, and spinning a tire on wet pavement when trying to accelerate are also done.
Anyone put one in recently? Any recommendations on what else to replace, if anything, while doing it?
I recently installed one. A Super Shim kit and new carrier bearings.
I need to do more homework on this, the main thing I'm concerned about is backlash/shimming. Never done a differential before. I'll order that shim kit.
By carrier bearing, do you mean the driveshaft carrier bearing? I was thinking of replacing that as I need to shim it for new taller blocks.
Where about in MT are ya?
TorqueKing 4x4 is in Billings. I bought a good number of parts from them when I did the D60 swap. They are good folks, in my experience.

I had their website up earlier looking at shim kits. Didn't realize they were in MT, definitely going with them now. Browns in Billings gave me my transmission a year or so ago, good experience.
I'm about as far from Billings as you can get and still be in MT, NW corner.
