Yep, and you get a LOT more whistle, and a little less boost on the top end. In my case, I only get about 25psi now, where I was getting 28ish with LOTS of surge...
i'm sure i gave up some boost when i did my wifes, but it eliminated 99% of all surge. not too much more whistle though. i guess its the extra sound deadening on the excursion. it also took me a little longer than 1/2 an hour, like maybe about 4 hours, but i did take the turbo all the way off and then disassemble.
