I’ve been hearing pros and cons on the Led head lights , mostly pro because of the brightness and overall clarity , the do have a fan on the back of the ones I was looking at, I didn’t think led got hot for a fan and also not sure if the said fan sticks out from the back to where my batteries and washer fluid res would be in the way , the Con was Led was expensive, I ended up with bright light Halogen and they are brighter than stock but ford didn’t add any side lite from the housing , so sharp mountain corners are dark corners , while everything else is bright.
The ones with fans are significantly larger, and you may have fitment issues, plus have to deal with the reliability of the fan.
There are now LED replacements that do not require a fan, and also burn less energy than the equivalent halogen bulb. We replaced the halogens in our headlights with LED replacements. The halogens burned 45 watts each, and the LED replacements only burn 15 watts. They run cool, provide significantly more light (and whiter too), and they fit easily inside the housing. We've had them for about 5 years now (since 2019), and are very happy with them.
My only issue was that changing out the bulbs was a PITA, but it would have been the same regardless of halogen or LED.
Thank you glue guy ,
so far the halogens are bright, now that I adjusted both and took the ford seal off , that was my issue, the lights were not twisted in properly with two seals in place , making the uneven and non Adjustable, all good except side lighting on sharp mountain curves , I’m in the market for a led bar for back up , problem is my grill is big and need room to pull it off , I only have inch to spare without cracking it on brackets for the lite bar , it’s already a pita as it is .looking at other trucks with a clean set up

LED technology has vastly improved from when they first came on the market. Using an LED lamp in a halogen housing is still less than optimal. But the results with today's LED is a lot better than what it was 10 or 15 years ago. It seems like the manufacturers are using newer chips and aiming them at the halogen reflectors with more efficiency. And the prices have dropped dramatically as the technology got better.
If buying a new car, where OEM LED is an option, that is the best way to go. The OEM LED is built as an LED lamp, not a halogen bulb replacement.
To my eyes, the white light from the LED is better than the dim yellow halogens. But that's just my eyes. We all have different eyes.
Just my opinion, formed after years of using different products, is that with an older truck, the most bang for the buck would be an LED light bar. A 22" light bar tucks perfectly in the opening between the upper plastic bumper cover and the lower metal bumper bar. Today's tech allows them to be wired straight to the battery, with a remote control. No running wires and drilling holes all over the truck. And even the cheap ones on Amazon are extremely bright.
With some of the older trucks, LED headlamps caused problems with the high beams, low beams, and fog lamps working correctly. LED signal lamps and brake lamps brought other gremlins to the electrical system. On my truck, I had to change out the lighting relay under the dash, to work with the LED tail lights and front signal lights. I lucked out that I did not have a problem with the headlights.
Well my 2024 deer season has officially ended I’ve traveled and walked it seems like every square inch of these mountains and canyons , bucks are in the beginning of Rut but are fast on the move , necks are full but the nose is not active on does , my next move is Elk hunt , 16th I’ll be in camo thermos with battery heated socks and hand warming water proof gloves , the weathers about to change here , rain with a great chance of Snow . I hate sitting in snow waiting but what else would I do , sit in the truck eating all the snacks

There is a kit with the brackets on Amazon. You could always send it back if it doesn't fit right or doesn't work out.
If I were doing the installation, I would use this kit. It wires from the battery, to the light. No other wires. No holes to drill. The remote control activates the lights.
I had an interesting day yesterday. I got my free haircut at Lyle's Beauty college with no problems. However, when I got in the truck to start it so I could go get the free truck wash at Red Carpet (part of the smog test) it would not start. Had to put it in neutral, and then back into park to get it to work. Then when I get to the car wash, and took my scooter out of the bed, they came over to me in the waiting area and told me they can't get my truck started. I tell them my secret for getting it to work, and they were successful. When it was all done, and dried off, I put the scooter in the bed and go to drive it home. Only it didn't want to turn in the parking lot, it was like the parking brake was on. So, I disengaged the parking brake (I thought) and continued. But it still felt like something was dragging. And, when sitting at a red light in drive, it would not inch forward when I let off the brake. So, I tried again to disengage the parking brake. Still no good. Halfway home I realized it was in 4x4 HI. So, I pulled over, put the trans in neutral, and switched it to 2Hi. Didn't work. When I go to the apartment, it was a major PITA to try and steer the truck. It seems the 4x4 was still in 4HI. I tried again to get it out of 4x4 but don't think I was successful. What is the trick to this? Am I supposed to back it up a few inches after switch modes? Or is this truck just being a PITA and not switching when it should. I am glad to find out the 4x4 works, but I would be happier if I could get it back into 2-wheel drive mode. I can't drive in 4x4 mode on the street it will tear everything up. I am surprised I haven't torn anything up driving it about 10 miles in 4HI as it is.
Cheaters and liars at the grocery store got me. They didn't even lube it up. Impossible that I saved over $100 for $50 worth of celery, grapes, avocado, chicken wings, and ribs. First they seduce me with the weekly ad. Then they rape me at the register.
The ribs were spare ribs. I had to butcher it myself to get St. Louis ribs.
I grew up eating ribs, from shops with the ducks in the windows. Sauce glazed on the surface, with tender, juicy meat which falls off the bone. When done right, Asian BBQ & American BBQ are the same thing. The meat has to be slow cooked so that it doesn't get dry. The sauce is added on last, as it finishes, to caramelize. Only difference is how the sauce taste. Today, there are no secrets. Anyone could buy the Asian sauce at Wal*Mart and Amazon.
A rack of ribs doesn't go very far. An adult could eat half a rack. Bigger guys might eat a whole rack by themselves. So I make 2 racks. And it's really still not enough.
You can order the new part from Rock Auto and pay more for shipping. You can order from Amazon, get free shipping, and your package gets lost. Go to the dealership parts counter and ask them to match the lowest price (which they sometimes do). Or you can go to O'Reilly, where they are twice the price, and get your 5% veteran's discount.
PS...... there are less expensive aftermarket parts. That's your decision. You know the pros and cons of using aftermarket parts. I buy aftermarket when it makes sense to do so.

I posted the question in the 2004-2008 F150 forum and got three different YouTube video links. So, it looks like I will be replacing the 4x4 solenoid. Probably will not happen until Tuesday as tomorrow is free food for veterans day. And the places I plan on going to are within scooter range. I did not get prices though, so thanks for the links. I don't know if I will go the Rock Auto route, but maybe. I want to get Motorcraft as much as possible with this POS truck. Yes, the Vietnamese guy delivered my headlights yesterday in a box that was big enough to hold a hundred of them. Guess I will wait for the solenoid to get here and do both repairs at once.
PS:I get a 10% discount at AutoZone and O'Rielly.
Jim
Ordered the Motorcraft part from RockAuto. The Dorman part was more expensive at AutoZone and O'Reilly. Go figure. Of course, I had to pay for shipping, but that made it $46.35. AutoZone wanted $73 for their Motorcraft part.
I am a sucker. If it's on sale, I buy it. I went to the store. I didn't need more beer. Bud Light was on sale! And, it was packaged in a 49ers marketing schematic. Then the meat department lady offered me a Chuck. I declined the Chuck. Until she offered to cut it. Okay, I'll take Chuck steaks. Why not? I'm already buying beer that I don't want. I don't even like drinking Bud, or Bud Light. But it does work for marinade. So I poured some 49ers beer onto the Chuck steaks.
Chuck steaks are like an aftermarket auto part. It's like the Dorman of the steak world. It'll work. It's not the best steak. But, you can eat it.
