I have just finished up doing my fuel injector job. Putting it all back together. question on the throttle body....
there are 3 cables that connect to the throttle body:
1) the main throttle cable
2) the cruise cable which attaches to the throttle cable
3) another cable (transmission kickdown?) that comes straight to the throttle body and connects to a round nipple
My question is there appears to be some slack in cable #3 where it attaches to the nipple. Is this normal? I don't remember seeing
this when I took things apart. Here is a pic of it together:
you can see the crimped metal bit on the end of the cable which I'm guessing should be flush against the white colored piece...no?
btw...getting that TORX bolt in the middle was a royal PITA....I ended up using a set of long pliers to fit it into the hole and then using a the TORX bit with the extension to screw it in....
why in the heck would they make a bolt with a head that would not fit in from the top is beyond me.
