Looking for recommendations (not technical)
just wanted to get opinions on the most reliable F250/350 year models and builds. I’m considering anything from ‘93-‘15.
could also give the most unreliable or builds to avoid as well.
thanks!
Never owned anything newer that a 99 myself. That being said if my former cherry one owner 97F250club cab HD 4x4/460/auto was a 350 crew cab Id be $$$$$$$$$$$ ahead. Only complaint is the TTB front end, trying to get in the back seat and the mileage was 12 if that. My V10 gets maybe a couple MPG's better. Stay away from the 6.0 diesels.
I’ve had a 5.4l gas burner so wouldn’t want that build. I’ve also never owned a diesel so it’s a bit intimidating with not having any experience working on that type of engine. Anything else is fair game so long as it can pull at least a 10k trailer.
When looking 2 1/2 years ago, I knew i wanted an older 3/4 ton Gas Ford and was intrigued by the V10. I had rented a few V10 Class C motorhomes and really liked the power delivery (even towing our 6000 lbs boat). Ended up finding a low mile '03 F250 V10 and have been happy with it. Liked the older style interior/dash, the cable actuated throttle, and even the front leaf springs, but most of all love that V10 sound and power delivery. It's not my daily driver either.
It’s more about maintenance by the previous (and current) owner(s) that will determine reliability. If there's a certain engine package and/or look you prefer, than zero in on those year ranges. Don't think reliability should a major concern given you find one in good condition
