Oasis Report, please?

I have been searching for the right truck for about two months now and have narrowed my search to two somewhat different trucks. One is a 99 2WD supercab and the other is a 99 4WD crew cab, both are Lariats with auto trans and long beds. Mileage is pretty similar and the difference in cost between the two is just over $2K, so I am leaning towards the crew cab due to the additional cab space, even though I don't expect to need the 4WD. Any thoughts?

I was hoping someone could run an Oasis report, a Carfax or both. I am new to the 7.3L market so any advice or suggestions based on the information in the reports would also be appreciated. I did read the sticky on what to look for when buying used 99-03. Thanks.

For $2k more, I'd go with the crewcab, 4x4...you'll never regret having more truck than you need, you'll always regret not having the truck you need.

WELCOME to FTE!!

The amount of room in the back seat of a Crew is absolutely awe-inspiring. I'm with Neal all the way on this... get the Crew.

Regarding the OASIS report, send a PM to GONE4X4 and ask him to run one for you. He's generally pretty quick on the trigger, even though he's had a good number of requests lately. Tell him F250_ sent you his way.

I had a '99 super cab and my kids did nothing but argue back there and those incovenience doors were just that, an incovenience. I sold it and bought an '02 crew cab.

Get a crew cab. It's like sitting in your living room.

WELCOME to FTE, jmcm.

You should start a new thread for this, and title it "OASIS Request". There are several folks who can run it for you.

I had 10 minutes left on my carfax subscription (literally). I know you wanted an OASIS report but this might help provide a little background info as well.

Size limit on post so here is Part I:

Sorry Tap, I meant to post to your request as well but had to go take care of something. I know you were wanting an OASIS report but this info might be useful. Here is the carfax report. (anyone looking to buy a vehicle I'd recommend getting the monthly subscription for unlimited reports for a month - it was $5 more than paying for a single report. Single report runs about 19.99 and the unlimited reports for a month is 24.99.)

Thanks F250 I've been lurking online in here for a little while and finally someone asked a question that I could sort of answer. We just bought a 2002 F350 7.3 PSD for the farm and I thought I'd look through the discussion boards to see what folks had to say. Never owned a diesel before and didn't want to screw things up right off the bat.

I don't know jack about engines (or anything else) but the information posted here has been nothing short of incredible. Lotta nice folks willing to share their knowledge and I don't think I could say enough good things about the time and effort everyone puts in.

I'm looking forward to owning our 350. It sure is nice knowing that ya'll are out here if I have a question about something.

Thanks again

JMCM : My pleasure and glad I could help a little.

Howe,

Welcome to the 7.3 forum. A more knowledgeable, friendlier bunch of guys and gals you won't find anywhere else in Diesel-dom!

I don't think there is ANYTHING that one could do to one of these trucks that someone else hasn't already done, and is willing to explain it in detail.

Stick around and you'll both learn things and teach things, depending on the subject and your experiences.
