4r70w trans issues

Hey all I have a 2000 ford f150 supercrew 4x4 5.4l 2v when I got it the trans was making a whining/whirling noise, I did some troubleshooting with the help of you tube and some machanics insight and determined it was the torque converter. I bought a remanufacted one form autozone, pulled the trans put it in and stuffed it all back together with fresh fluid same filter ( I know I messed up on that part) but when I got the fluid to where I wanted it I drove it and it was bliss no issues what so ever no slipping/bucking/slamming into gear nothing drove about 5 miles and it started to only shift at a higher rpm taking a sec for the gear to engage, it got sluggish but didn't stop pulling, got it home and put it in park and the whirling/whining came back checked fluid and it was at a good level in the hot range, the whining whirling stops when in gear but happens in park and neutral, now when I start it the fluid stays at just below half on cold part of the dip stick and about 20 to 30 seconds it risies all the way up the dip stick going over hot almost like all the fluid in the pan and after a minute it just stops pulling all together no drive reverse nothing, I have a good trans to put in it 4r70w form another 5.4l I'm planning to swap it but I wanted to ask to see if anyone thinks the new tc could be bad or it just the trans, thanks for reading TIA.

Most likely the front pump is bad. That's what usually makes the whirring sound.

As a suggestion have that extra 4R70W gone through by a trusted shop or mechanic, IMHO anyway.

It isn't the new torque converter is bad. The torque converter was never the problem in the first place, so installing a new torque converter couldn't have fixed your problem. I agree with the bad pump diagnosis.

It does look like that. Those codes show that it isn't shifting 1-2 or 2-3. If those are the only codes it points to a mechanical failure inside the transmission.
