I turned truck off and when I started it and tried to put in gear had a whining noise and no gear so pushed it to a parking spot . Then waited like 5 minutes started it and it went into gear. So do I have a trans that is goin out or did it hiccup? This is on a 2007 f250 6.0 diesel 4x4

 

Low trans fluid could do that. Check it with the trans warmed up, in park, and the engine idling.

 

I checked the fluid and it’s good no burn smell and is red in color

 

Is the trans fluid low, or filled into the hot range?

 

Filled to correct level I’m wondering if I need to check the line pressure

 

That would be the next step.
