Slow to engage

It takes several seconds for the transmission to engage when shifting to drive. Is this the trans failing or maybe torque converter. Once in gear it drives well.

It could be a clogged trans filter, but if it’s that bad it means you need a rebuilt trans. There are posts here about the “feed” bolts coming loose, I think you have to drop the pan and valvebody to get to them. Be careful doing that.

Fluid level is good. Color is good. No overheating issues. I did not check fluid level with engine running at operating temp though.

That is the only accurate way to check transmission fluid. At operating temperature, flat level ground, in park or neutral.

Then all you know is that the level is right, too high or too low. Which one is it? Nobody knows until you check the level at operating temperature.

I would recommend starting your own thread to avoid any confusion between your specific issues and the OP. Plus a little detail on what vehicle your trying to diagnose may be helpful also. Put as much detail as you can about what the problems are and what test's you may have already done helps a bunch too. Remember we're not there so the only things we know are the things you tell us.
