Stay safe up there , how’s the winds ?, last time I went through Corning off the 5 it was gusty and hot, very little green to the landscape , Shasta lake seemed to cool me down a bit but still dry there too .

The winds are down a bit. Here at the house, they are 4 mph from the South. We are good here, just hearing tankers go over about 1 every 5-10 minutes.

wow I had no idea they helt that much , I know to put one in the air costs a lot of Benjamins, California most likely will claim state of disaster and get Fed money , seems like the whole west coast is on fire at the moment, pray for Rain with no lightning, that’s what have been starting fires here around crater lake area.a few homeless camp fires but those get put out quickly.

Yeah, we have had quite a few “questionable” starts, but they have been jumped on hard too. Thankfully the few lightning storms have been gentle fire wise.
My earliest encounter was with one of these. Technology has come a long way.

Looking at the CalFire map, it appears that they made some sort of line along route 32. This is likely old news by this (Sunday) morning, but the information I got yesterday is downright scary.
Park fire is burning 5,000 acres/hour.
That would blow through 40 acres in about a half minute.
