You haven't shopped at Walmart lately have you? I don't eat pizza pockets, but the chicken and fish I buy are always lower in cost than the meat they sell here.

A photo from this afternoon. SR 89 closed between Clio and Cal Pine in Plumas County.

I just saw that on my news feed. They say it was caused by lightning strikes. Of course, none of that matters when lives are at risk. Is anyone hurt?

San Francisco municipal ordinances do not allow Wal*Mart and Home Depot.

The closest Wal*Mart on the map is across a bridge and tunnel. Once I factor in traffic, and bridge tolls, I've lost money by going there. If I choose to stay on this side of the bridge and tunnel, there is a Wal*Mart 40 miles south, in Mountain View.

San Francisco doesn't have Harbor Freight either. I either cross a bridge & tunnel, or drive an hour south.

Wow. I have never heard that a city can ban certain stores. Ridiculous.

San Luis Obispo has (had?) a ban on Drive Throughs. Every normal drive through was a sit down or take out.

No drive thru in SLO huh? That is a strange law. And is there a reason given or do the lawmakers in that city have nothing else to do but think up crazy laws?

A few years back, a local City Supervisor wanted to enact an ordinance which would prohibit new Chinese restaurants from opening. His reasoning was that there was enough Chinese food, and that it would enhance the diversity of the neighborhood. That guy got booted out of office at the next election.

That's how these things come about. You have an elected official who proposes a local ordinance. The people then allow it to become law by voting for it to pass. Or they vote someone else into office.

Every crazy local law is because the locals want it.

Cost of living. It could change the course of history. Elections have been decided based on the cost of living.

The cost of gas and the cost of food was high. Jimmy Carter did not get a second term.

Today's cost of living is high. The cost of meat, especially. Not too long ago, when the last President was in office, I paid 99 cents for pork chops, and 99 cents for a dozen eggs. I'm looking at my grocery receipt, and the cost of pork chops has tripled. I'm paying almost $2 for 1 pork chop. 1 President ago, I was eating t-bones and NY steaks, at the same price that I'm paying for sirloin today.

For no reason what-so-ever, I just assumed that meat at Wal*Mart would be cheaper.

Welcome to the socialist party, where we all pay to survive, , glad my freezer is full of options and my pantry has dry goods stored for thirty years on rotation, if you don’t get it by now , you’ll be in a world of surprise later , it’s not too late to start now .
on that note a bartering option is good , I stocked up on 22 long rifle , 22 mag, 357, 9mm , , 270 , 270 Mag short , 243, 38 hollow, 357 bear , 308,etc ,plenty of stocked firewood to last with Moms homemade double insulated quilts for winter , I’ve got coolers ready and a 500 gallon propane tank with a generac generator primed and ready, my solar connect will produce enough along with the generator,
now if I can keep those dam insurance companies from raising rates , what a crock of S:!t they are .
anyway thought I’d comment so I could still get notification from Ford truck enthusiasts, Lord knows I get enough political emails , Trump 2024.

I like that word allegedly. Everyone uses it, even when it is a well-known fact. That Crooks tried to kill Trump the media still says allegedly. Ha. So, multiple people allegedly raped an Australian woman in Paris. Was she allegedly from Australia? Were the allegedly perpetrators from Paris, or just stopping by from another city?

Crime happens outside of the USA for once. Or maybe it is just that they feel we should know about a gang rape that happened in Paris. I guess Biden stepping down and Camel running is not news enough for the American people we need to know what happens in Paris as well.
