I had heard rumors the Athletics were moving to Vegas, I guess they did already.
Not looking forward to this week. I pray my AC does not break down, or PG&E doesn't do a rolling brownout.

I have my doubts whether the A's will go to LV. They want LV taxpayers to foot the bill, and the rumors I have read indicate they're not all that hepp on the idea. I think they'll end up in Sacramento.
Weather guy says it will be ~~ 111° in Concord Tuesday and Wednesday. Probably over 100 in the south bay and peninsula through Friday. Wear your air-conditioned hat!
Definitely the AC hat, some of the areas around me are under warning for PSPs. It’s not too bad right now sitting in the shade and the 10 mph wind though.
Somebody made a mistake. 4th of July is suppose to be so cold and foggy, that you are freezing and can't see fireworks. And in years past, it rained on whomever chose to go out that night to stare up at the sky like a bunch of turkeys waiting to drown in the rain.
Fortunately, we have nature's air conditioning. The Pacific Ocean.
I butchered a couple of chickens today. 2 chickens. That way I can have 4 legs, thighs, breasts, wings..... and a pot of chicken stock. Now for my favorite part. I get to eat the chicken carcasses for dinner. I don't waste anything. There's plenty of good meat left on the bones, after I make chicken stock.
Too hot for me. I will stay in as much as possible. However, the next three days I will have to go out in it. Luckily, tomorrow the Bible study starts at 6:30pm, which is after the hottest part of the day (4-6pm) but not by much. Wednesday and Thursday will be a different story. I'll be out in it from 5:30pm until 9pm-ish as the teens like to hang out and talk for a while when the weather is hot.
See if your city has funding for "cooling centers". Get the city to pay your church to operate as a cooling center. Then you can hang out there all day, get paid with "city dollars" to "protect" the place, enjoy the A/C paid for by the city, drink up all of the hydration supplied by the city, and eat all of the snacks supplied by the city.

Growing up in farm country in Illinois, we had farms all around us. We were not farmers. When my older sister married, she hooked up with a guy from a farming family, so my brother and I got to "work on the farm" for a couple of summers.
At the end of the day, we'd all come back to the farm house and my BIL's mother would say to me; "We've got x people for dinner, run out to the chicken pen and ****** a couple of chickens.". I did not know how to "****** a couple of chickens". So she went out with me the first time. She grabbed a chicken by the head, and swung it around like a baton and the head came off in her hand, the chicken ran headless for a minute, and dropped over. Viola! Snatched chicken. I caught on quick.
