Hey folks! I have been working on this project for a long time. ha! But I am getting close. The last issue I have to face is the fuel system. I have the factory in cab tank.... I do not want to move the tank. And I really don't want to drill it if I can keep from it.
So... does anyone know of a fuel sending unit that has a pickup built in that will fit/work in a in cab highboy tank? The 5 bolt pattern is fairly ubiquitous, yeah?
And yes... that is the "correct" 1975 4bbl "T" intake that WOULD have been available IF you could get a 390 4bbl in a 1975 Highboy. Non-EGR spacer included. Yes... the Edelbrock would have been easier. No... I didn't consider it. Ha!
Yeah, I thought about those... but I don't know that I can hide one all that well. And I've worked and thought considerably about making this thing look some kinda way. ha! Even though that way is rusty with bits of old school brilliance.
Yup... already have one... no problem with that. Just trying to figure out how to plumb the fuel line without drilling the tank. Or rather making sure i am not missing something before I do.
For instance... this something like this with a fuel pickup built in. Not a pump. Just the pickup.
I must've missed something... does your fuel line from the tank not work? I used an inline pump yrs ago when I put an 89 300 block in my 79 F250 (like an idiot, I overlooked that part when I bought the engine..) I just plumbed the electric fp to the original pickup tube with a filter prior to and after the pump..
Fuel line is fine.... gotta have two. Return line is required for EFI setup. Something like so is what I am looking for. I might try to drill the existing sender. But space is pretty tight.
Great question. Other than the fact I have never seen it done... not sure. Wonder if anyone has tried that. Not sure what the pressure differential between the draw and the return would be or what effect it might have on the system.

Yup... I have read most of those... but none of them are using the in cab tank on a highboy. If I had rear tank I'd drill it and run the drop in EFI pump/sender from Holley in a heartbeat.
