I have a 2011 Ford F150 XLT 4X4 V6 3.5 L Ecoboost. It's running fine but the gas gauge malfunctioned about 6 weeks ago, so now it's always showing empty and that is throwing a code that has the check engine light on and a low fuel light. The inspection sticker is expired and so now it's not passing State inspection due to this. Service station say $1,500.00 repair, including dropping the tank and replacing the fuel pump. seems excessive considering the car is starting right up and running fine... Further after doing some internet video searches, I can't tell if my truck with it's 3.5. twin turbo Eco-boost engine has the High pressure fuel pump that is accessible under the hood or only the fuel pump in the tank (car is still at the service station so I can't look)..or both? thoughts and/or suggestions appreciated. the truck has 145,000K.

Post the exact codes you pulled, someone will chime in with more info.
your problem could be a broken wire, or the float level inside the gas tank. Float is part of the "pump assembly" thats why they quote replacing the PUMP and the FLOAT... Probably not a good idea to put a new float/ resistor assembly and keep the 14 year old pump ??? ....... YES, you have a HP pump on the motor, but that has nothing to do with the FLOAT reading.
