I have not see different mounting ways of the anti rattle strip. The ones I used from JBG has the little V shaped wire barbs in a row and it just pushed in place easy enough. We are talking about part # 21452? ....etc....
Yeah, I think I called them clips, but yeah, they push into little like slots or almost oval holes as I recall. Not wire as I recall, but more like narrow pieces flat spring steel. Wire might be better though.
Dat dem fer certain, it's a coming back to me now. One thinks they all clicked, then rolls a glass up or down, and "poing" .... one or two pop out. Got to be careful to make sure they go into a hole before pressing too hard.

I replaced everything about 7 years ago from lmc, before i knew about them. The tabs on the felt strips didn't quite match up at the ends, and when i did get them in, the seal wasn't perfect. Also all the rest of the window seal is falling apart at this point, and needs replaced. Still water tight, and never get any water in cab, but look chitty. The ones a buddy got from Steele were great from the start, and years later look the same
Got everything sorted out and all the new parts match the old parts. The thing now is that the old anti rattle strip in the door is so dry and sun baked and seems like it was glued in. Gotta scrape it out with a hammer and scraper / screwdriver.

My originals as well as both sets aftermarket just used clips. Sounds like someone augmented those clips .... with 3m weather strip adhesive or something else "sticky".
With the door panel off, go inside the door and UP, and use a #2 flat tip screwdriver to carefully pry one end loose and then keep going one clip area at a time.
