Data Plate assistance- tried searching forums first
I am new here, just getting into the Fridge game with a 1960 F250 4x4. I have searched this and other forums and decoded most of the data plate, but the Trans code eludes me. It says Trans F30 Axle 4. I was able to locate another post where someone identified the axle as having 4.56 gears. I cannot find anything on the transmission though, can anyone assist me with determining what transmission is in this truck?

F25 = F250
C = 292 2V MD 146 certified net HP @ 3800 RPM
0 = 1960
K = Kansas City Assembly Plant
18736 = Serial number
118 = 118 inch wheelbase
A = Raven Black
F253 = F250 4x4, 7400 lbs GVWR (shown for 1960 model year only)
27K = October 27, 1959 production date
F = Warner T98A four speed transmission (Since this is part of your question--do you have a 4 speed with 2-3-4 synchro?)
I will come back on this tomorrow. For now, I think your plate had a typo.
The axle code is supposed to be three characters. Two for the rear axle, one for the front. I think they reversed it:
B = Front axle with 3,000 lbs capacity, 4.55 ratio
04 = Rear axle with 5,000 lbs capacity, 4.56 ratio
7400 = 7,400 lbs GVWR, just about right for 8,000 lbs of axle capacity as Ford usually listed a lower GVWR than the total axle capacitys.
146 3800 = Certified Net HP/RPM, just as stated under the 292 2V listing.
0349 = Can't figure that one out.
I'll check back and see what you think.

I say typo on the warranty plate as it has the axle sequence backwards.
After transmission, it's supposed to be rear axle two characters and then front axle, a single character.
So yours "should" read "04B".

just a couple of days at this point. I've had '68 and '71 F150s, a '76 Scout II, and currently have a '69 Bronco plus a couple of old Ford tractors ('48 and '58)- so this feels right.
