U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.
644172 = 1965.
Trans/axle codes do not make sense. Please look at them again or post a pic of the Warranty Plate.
The TRANS code is listed first, then a space...followed by the AXLE code, but there is no TRANS code of 2F nor is there an AXLE code of FF.
The following might be correct, might not.
TRANS code 2: Transmatic (Allison) model MT-40 6 speed A/T
AXLE code F: Timken model R141 Rear Rear Single Speed Axle / 6.14-1 / 34,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
heres that plate, if it'll help.. looks like the rears will need to go. 6 to 1 is not going to work..
No TRANS code: A transmission that was not an RPO (Regular Production Order) was installed, that was specified by the original purchaser.

F = Rockwell-Timken model FE-970 11,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle.

420068:
42 = Fargo ND Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
0068 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
The above 4 digit DSO code refers to the non standard (not an RPO-Regular Production Order) transmission that was installed.
DSO parts are not listed in the parts catalog, so in this case...if trans parts were required, the dealer contacts FoMoCo with the DSO code.
FoMoCo looks up the order, passes the info back to the dealer where the trans parts could be found.
