You can’t help but like it! I’m such a mess you guys feel sorry for me 😜🤣
I wouldn't go that far... it's more like we are really here to help, and in my case, learn. I'm sure by now you see we also pick on each other now and then, it's all in fun.
I should also admit, I didn't buy the 4ft stepladder. I got mine from work. Seems back in the mid 1990's OSHA, had a law about aluminum ladders. So the large Aero-Space Corp. I worked for got rid of all aluminum ladders. I was in the right place at the right time, I also took the 12ft stepladder. That has come in handy a few times. Brought them home from work in the 86' F150.

They also did in the wood ladders and the hospital I worked at had to get rid of them so I took one home also.

All kidding aside we would like to hear about your "rubber piece" and see a photo. I'm wondering if you have an original master cylinder. That would make sense since your firewall checked out ok. How many miles does your truck have?
You did post that you were low and added fluid but if you have the two piece cap and rubber piece and you didn't remove it to check fluid then you may have filled up the rubber piece and that won't make it down to the master reservoir.
Notice I did not refer to "rubber ducky". Out of Respect...
Big Blue rubber ducky is now and forever ingrained into my brain, lol. It’s been sorta cold here and I’ve been on other projects. In a bit we are taking the truck to town for shopping and stuff. I’ll check it before we leave and take pictures…thanks for keeping me on my toes. 😜

Big Blue and all u guys I got out there and did it. I’ve attached pictures. Rubber Duck was pushed into itself when I first pulled it out. I then pushed it out into its proper form. The fluid appeared to be at the correct level and was clean. I put ducky into place and screwed down the lid. A small amount of fluid squeezed out so I guess that means it’s full. Sherry and I drove to town and the clutch worked just fine. Except for follow up comments I’ll consider this post closed in regards to my clutch. As usual I learned stuff that I had no clue even existed…so thank you.
Side note: in town Sherry went grocery shopping and I went to the sporting goods shop and purchased a metal target that pings when hit. I also may have
purchased something to make it ping but I’m probably not allowed to talk about that stuff here 😵💫.
Thanks for posting the pics of the rubber ducky. That's what I remembered my original OEM master having. So I'm not losing my mind yet. How many miles on your truck? Low I would suspect. But possibly being an upper Midwest truck it could be as high as 250,000 miles on an original clutch master and firewall as you get a lot more miles per clutch depression out there.
Big Blue when I purchased this truck now over 2.5 years ago the odometer and speedometer did not work. Crap a lot of stuff didn’t work as u know. The guy told me he purchased the rebuilt engine with 60 something thousand miles. I had no way to verify that except the odometer was stuck on 60 thousand which I guess made me suspicious. But, the engine ran well and still does. The VIN shows my truck to be an 85 and remember the previous owner telling me bed bed was off an 86. Although the interior looks nice it’s actually crap. It’s all age appropriate but everything is just sorta ***** nilly screwed down. The dash has some cracks and the speaker area was crumbled. I simply took Gorilla glue and filled in the cracks to keep them from spreading and ordered a dashmat that looks really nice. The steering wheel looks and with no cracks and my neighbor and I got the horn to work. I wish I had kept the for sale ad off FB because the previous owner had listed the good and bad items. I almost think I remember he said a new clutch but I won’t swear to it. The clutch reservoir does not look original to me and if it is it’s cleaned up and painted. One thing I feel guilty about is no seatbelts which is how it came. If you know is there a way to buy lap belts and install them? Let me know. I hope this answered your questions…

The only thing I see that concerns me is in the second picture, what's that rust like stuff, in that fold ? Is that something that shows there may have been some moisture in the system in the past ?
I would think he should keep an eye on the color of the fluid. Hopefully it stays light and does't get dark, which would show there is some moisture in the system.
Max Cap I do see that now that you pointed it out. I’ll get back out there today and inspect further. I don’t believe the system has a leak but you never know. When I again pull this rubber piece out and do find discoloration what should I do? As u can see the fluid is super clear…like water.
