They hit me AGAIN!

Well since I moved to metro area, amateur truck thieves hit me twice! Busted drivers door outside handle, but were unable to unlock door. I picked up OEM handle from local Ford dealer parts department (never had an aftermarket handle that had reasonable quality though I tried a few). The OEM handle is only a few bucks more than aftermarket and will last till some dang fool destroys it trying to gain access to interior. They have not been successful thus far. One time in the middle of the night I heard noise out in driveway, went out in my jammies where upon the attempted thieves dropped their tools and ran. Dang good thing cause I might have taken action that in Colorado would have made me (the victim) the aggressor, and the thieves oppressed underpriviledged poor souls!
Seriousy considering moving to my son's place in Montana where I only have to deal with four legged varmints!

Fled California mid 70's in a '58 Chevy half ton 283, 3spd. Ran that bugger till 1980, when I could afford an upgrade. Went through a couple gas Ford PU's. Did not get a real truck till 2002, Bought new, still running well, though rode hard & put up wet (I try not to do that to my horses). Son is up on the plateau east of Billings, Cattle & hay as is most of MT, out in the boonies, but maybe not far enough. Big heated shop where I have helped him repair & maintain his loader, tractor, mower, and baler. Running out of places to hide from the Democraps!

I now live 12 miles north of our southern border. And I like it here more so than farther up north because here they are just passing through. But the fence jumpers leave trash in the brush as they pass through here on their way north. Get your 2nd Amendments while you still can.

The wife and I left Colorado 2 yrs ago after being there since the 80s. We now live in Missouri in the middle of multiple lakes,... Couldn't be happier. And a lot lower cost of living... nicer people and just quieter.
And no demonrats

I have a good friend in Denver, his 7.3 truck got stolen from the mall parking lot when he was visiting us in Tucson and in Denver he had his 6.0 truck stolen twice! He's now driving a very plain Jane a 6.7 that looks like a boring company truck and so far nobody has attempted to steal that one. It's a free for all for the crooks these days, they know nothing will happen to them. They have more to fear from the owner's than the police. They just walk into Walgreens and help themselves to whatever they want.

That place in Montana sounds wonderful.

I vote for punji stakes that swing out from under the cab when these lowlifes attempt another break-in. A punji stake through the knee(s) should make them rethink their life choices. Be sure to go traditional and make them out of bamboo for the Organic/non-GMO/vegan/celiac types.

Welcome to Big Mo BillyBob69. Short history lesson, ALL of MO has always been and STILL is 'Democrat (ic) (in some sense). One 'party' with two wings.... Blue Dog and Yellow Dog (there WAS no and IS no 'Republican' party. The Blue Dogs (Pro-Life, Pro Original as written U.S. Constitution) took over the Repub name and the Yellow Dogs extended their name to be called Democratic Socialist Fascist Communist Liars Thieves and Murdering BaldKnobbers. We are all Family and Related in some way. Grandma says that we must all get along and love one another and be nice and we do. Never forgeting that we are all back woods folk in Big MO (even those living in what are called towns) and have guns, knives and clubs on our person. Be very respectful to the Ladies and never spit tobacco on the floor in the house. When you need a keeper of the peace NOW, they may be minutes or hours away. You are the only line of defense against rascals of ill intent. Horse thieves and those not being respectful to the ladies will NOT be tolerated.

and that is written in the good book

(go west of The Mississippi and east of the Cali fault line)

Put new OEM door handle in, working fine. Son is probably best called a "ranch manager". He owns the equipment, and a few cows, but not the land, the buildings, or the majority of the herd. Seems content with the situation. I would describe our roots as "White Trash" from Arkansas & Missouri, and I am not ashamed of that! Hard working, hard scrabble folks of the type who MADE this country. Still have family in that region, but I prefer to be a bit (or a lot) further away from "civilization".

Freaking meth heads. Your stuff ain't safe. It is a little safer since the cops shot/killed the ringleader in franklin county. Did you see the documentary on meth. Franklin county is/was meth capital U.S.A. My boys truck was stolen off of the rear lot of midwest motors 3 times. 3rd time it was totaled after it left the road and overturned. Used a truck stolen from that lot to drive thru the fence of Sinclair ford to steal several more. My boy was enteting the local self storage when he recognized his friends stolen truck that had been painted flat black. Followed him until the cops took over. Truck totaled when it was over. Another kid from the scout troop had his stolen fron the local mexican restaurant. Not the first, or last to dissappear from that lot. Things have slowed down a little since karma caught up with that meth head ringleader, but 7.3's still aren't safe around here(jefferson and franklin counties).

Our county in northeast GA is a Constitutional Sanctuary and very strong on the rights of the citizen, not the criminal. Many years ago I held a would be thief at gunpoint and fired a warning shot until the deputy arrived. That jackass received 20 years in prison with a minimum of 10 served due to the priors he had. One of which was assault on a police officer.

Just be aware of your rights and what will land you in the defendants seat instead of as a witness or the on the prosecutions side.

As for stopping future trespassing and theft attempts, you could get something like a driveway alarm. This will let you know when there is a human or vehicle crossing in front of the sensor area that you have specified.

Something like this works well:
