I have the BEM kit but I hate that you are unthreading vs unlocking it. It got annoying so I am back to my locking stant cap. If someone wants my BEM kit I'd be willing to sell it (was on my truck for one fill-up).
I like the idea of a quarter turn.
Depends on which BEM cap you have how the locking mech works. I like the 22A BEM style better than the Stant caps for sure. I’ve resold several BEM sets on eBay as trucks come and go and they do hold value pretty well.
I’m on the preorder list for the tank warden…definitely choked a bit on the $300, even cut down to $249. I’ve read some valid concerns on other private groups and public forums over this set, but still pulled the trigger.
I have a hard time imagining with virtually zero capital equipment and overhead…and no assembled production units…that the guy making these can show they’re worth the price, BUT I’m a techie and want to try those out.
The main thing that bothers me about the tank warden promos is that there is no exposé of the product. No media showing HOW they work. For example, I’ve studied the DEF filler and see how the BEM cap works on it (common sense), but there’s no video, photo or other media showing HOW the tank warden DEF cap actually locks onto DEF pipe. Looking at the inverted photo of the DEF cap sitting inverted in the holder, there is no evident operable features that would effect a lock. So, it both piques my curiosity and makes me worry. Eagerly waiting.
The BEM packet arrived yesterday and I put them on immediately. They seem to be good quality - as I expect for that price - and I’ll see how much the screwing and unscrewing of the lock annoys me. The diesel cap doesn’t seem to be quite airtight but there’s no loss of fuel with a full tank, so no problem there.
The old caps are now cleaned and in waiting mode, hopefully for a long time.
I have the BEC metal caps…I’m not going to call them locking becuase there is no lock….just a cap head screw that you tighten and the screw friction is supposed to secure the cap. I can loosen my screw with my finger no matter how tight I secure it with the tool they give you. Just got done with a 625 mile trip today and my cap was off the fill nozzle sitting behind the door….soon as I open my fill doir…the bed cap fell to the ground. Very secure system.

You talking about the BEM ones? I don't see how this is possible. The weight alone should prevent them from backing up and out. And I have a hard time seeing them not only magically unscrewing AND backing up/out of the filler neck.
