sorry just getting back to you, yes I checked and I have the green dummy plug on the rear diff
GREAT! This is very doable.
You need to find a vin for a truck for sale or wherever you can same year and trim level that has the factory diff lock. We need to get the correct code for the Transfer case control module.
I am fairly certain the part numbers I have will be the correct ones for your 25.
From what I've seen the 23 to 25 are the same truck.
Does your truck have electric parking brake or a manual parking brake, that makes a difference for the harness we need to plug into the green plug under the green cap on the differential.
PM and we can talk on the phone so I can get walk you through this.
So it turns out some trucks that were not ordered with an E locker may have the E locker axle but no way to turn it on. The good news it can be done reasonable cost effectively. If look at the back of your rear differential and you have a green dummy plug, then this is for you. Mine was On the right side. I saw 17 to 19 F250's were all the left side FYI. You will need a new harness that has the green plug, In my case I have an electric PARKING BRAKE. The new harness replaces the one that goes from the Main harness that runs to the rear of the truck up high under the bed near the axle, to the locker, then the right speed sensor and the electric parking brake. You will need the switch that controls the drive modes and 4x4 in my case. You will also need the AWD module near the passenger kick pate up high. That module is 703-163-01 through 763-163-07 in Forscan. I had to change two lines of code with Forscan. I found the correct code by finding a truck VIN with the same year and trim level, then using the motor craft as built website. Select Country - FordServiceInfo.Com I changed the lines of code to match the truck I found that has the E locker. PC3Z-15K857-FCBWire Assembly SwitchesRC3Z-14B596-AASwitch Assembly ControlPC3Z-7P238-D Module These are the parts I ordered for a 2023 Platinum, yours may vary. I will post a few basic pics later on the dummy plug, its pretty obvious if you have it. I do know when I called around one of the differential shops in Michigan was aware its common to have the E locker axle even if it wasn't ordered like mine. He was the one who told me to look at mine as he had no locker that would fit my VIN. Apparently he knew based on my vin.

You need Forscan and be semi adept at using it.

The site won’t let me message you, says I don’t have permission but yes I have the electronic parking brake. If you want just email me and we can exchange contact there

The one question I have for this idea is what might happen if a fellow forgets to turn it off...at freeway speed or on dry pavement for instance. I think the factory setup disengages the lock above a certain speed.
I put the SPE E-LOCKER KIT on my 2014 F150 Ecoboost. I loved it and it actually engaged and disengaged faster than factory. I was driving through Nevada a couple summers ago and came upon an accident. In my rush to assist I accidentally hit the E Locker switch, which works in reverse of the factory where you typically pull the switch. SPE you push it in. First I help the first time RVer who was driving too fast with no WDH, lost control of his Ford Transit flipped the rental 19' Travel Trailer. Rear end of the Transit was in the air still attached. Absolutely NO one was on this deserted highway. I was glad to help. I jump into the F150 and proceed up the road at 80-85mph with the E Locker engaged. Never realized it until I heard the rear wheels squealing as I turned into a gas station. Never hurt the axle any.
I like the fact I could control the E Locker manually, but SPE doesn't make a kit for the 2021F250 6.7L. I do have upfitter switches and could tap into the rear diff, just havent yet.

Ive read through the whole thread and discovered my truck does not have the locker but I do have the dummy plug on the left side of the diff (seeing it from the rear). More help would be appreciated as I’m trying to convert it to the locker. 2024 king ranch
But, I believe e-locker is useless except for specific situations. A far better option is something seamless that is useful ALL the time, such as a Detroit TruTrac or similar. Basically a helical style limited slip is what you want. Those require no switches, wires, air lines, nothing. And they work on pavement, off pavement, foul weather, etc. Just a lot more bang for the buck.
I’m probably going to do a TruTrac in mine when money allows.
The reason elockers are open or locked, and hardly ever limited slip, is because LS is very rarely needed. Open is great tor stability, locked is great for grip and offroad. 99% of the time where an LSD is handy, open with better tires or skill, or locked, works fine.
It depends on youre useage. But I think that elockers cover a wider range of situations than an LSD deos. Sure, you can make use of an LSD every day. But its useless in a slick ditch or a rocky flooded road.
The pulling out into traffic, in the rain, analogy, is a perfect example. Open diff with better tires, and a driver that actually knows how to drive, does just fine. Will a Trutrac do better, easier? Yes. But not enough IMO, to give up a locker. And an autolocker with the right tires does damn well, in the same situation. If you can drive.
Im running these:
In 35x12.5r18 at 40psi. They hook up fine. Just roll into the throttle easy in tight right turns. Good feedback before letting go.
I wouldnt waste any money on a LSD rear, unless youre putting an autolocker in the front axle. Or you never go offroad at all.
If youre in a warm climate, Id get a Detroit locker in the rear, without any hesitation. Skip the entire axle swap headache.

Hey there, did you end up going with complete axle swap or changing the carrier and how did you wire it? I am putting in an E-locker and had some questions on factory wiring. Thanks
