Best Delete Kit

Who offers a good delete kit for a 2021 F350? Tuner Depot any good? SCT? Anyone else?

I made it through 6 pages and learned that some people think deletes are bad and some think they are good. That's about it.

Have you tried searching this forum or even Bing? If you search here and the internet, you'll find more info.

Go to this post in the aforementioned thread and it talks about the Cloud and how tunes are sent over it.

Companies like SCR got fined by the EPA and "delete" kits are no longer mainstream because of the aggressive enforcement by the EPA. There's tuners north of the border... do your research. I just had a buddy of mine use one and I was impressed with the heavy tune he had installed, came with a muffler and was not that much louder than stock... because of the muffler. IMO, couldn't see any noticeable smoke out of the tailpipes either when he took me for a ride and stomped on it.

I would say the ones the epa go after first…in descending order.

I don't know if anybody has come up with a better way but 2020+ who ever was doing it had to have the PCM and open it up so they could connect to a specific chip to tune it, you needed specific hardware that was just for doing this and IIRC you even had to unsolder something on the board of the PCM.
So that's the way they were done, maybe somebody has come up with an easier way but I haven't seen it.

The 20 plus ECMs are encrypted so they have to removed from the truck and sent out for flashing. I believe I recall a user here who had an issue with his 20 plus truck, maybe just a CEL, but you're kinda screwed if you have an issue with a truck that new after having the ECM flashed, IMO, unless you buy another ECM to use while you send it back again. But don't know what's entailed to place a new ECM into the truck... plus $$$.

2020+ trucks have to have their computers bench flashed. No hand held devices available. Doable, but more complicated and more expensive.

I know it doesn’t have to be sent out to somebody if you have the right hardware to do it. I know the hardware had to come from overseas to do them but I can’t recall the name, I did look it up by the name and found it. Now the L5P’s did have to be sent to somebody, but I think there is a way to do those in house now.

Thanks for the explanation but the typical user isn't going to be computer savvy enough or spend that kind of money/time to research the subject. As to those underground delete places existing here, I don't see tuners here in the US getting vested in that and possibly facing huge fines from the EPA, I'm no expert, but I think that's why the companies I have read about are in Canada. I'm not saying that there aren't any here that do it, but I'm thinking they would be the exception and not the rule. I also think the newer 6.7s are advancing and getting cleaner with less EGR use and more DEF usage. I also want to see how the Speed of Air Technologies piston design advances and see if they get SEMA and CARB certification. They could help in getting the emissions components to last a lot longer in older trucks like mine. Just my 2 cents...

My buddy that just deleted his 15 used to know a guy here locally that did it... he went to a tuner in Canada instead. So I'm thinking his friend got out of it because of the EPA.

I just did a quick search on Fire Fox and there are tunes available for 2020+ but you need an EZLynk ($600) so you can pull the tune from the cloud. Look up EZlynk on Youtube and watch a few videos, you'll get the idea.

If the 20 plus ECMs are encrypted, there's gotta be more than just downloading a tune from EZ Lynk's cloud, I'm surmising... And truthfully, if I did buy a new truck, which I'm not... Way too $$$ for me personally, there's no way I'd even send out that new ECM to be flashed or yet alone download a tune off EZ Lynk's cloud and try it.

This is a screen shot from You Tube... I'm thinking you can't just download a delete tune off the cloud for a 20 plus truck. For the 17 to 19s... Yeah... But yeah I've heard of EZ Lynk and I often wonder how the EPA hasn't come after them and nailed them... Like they did everyone else.

In researching for the EZ Lynk for the 20 plus 6.7 Powerstroke, I came across this. These guys have been doing emissions on tuning since the delete days. While I have perused the website before, I haven't been on it for a few years I'd have to say... But this specifically came up when I searched:

https://duramaxtuner.com/vehicle-typ...werstroke.html

These Spade Flash bench flash tunes are CARB certified here. But the Black Box tuner, which looks to be their version of the EZ Lynk Auto Agent 2.0 according to their website, is not but is SEMA certified and 49 state legal. (Thanks Cali... ) Here's how to install the tunes with Black Box here.

so I'm thinking these encrypted ECMs can be flashed and was figured out by EZ Lynk.

There is an option to buy just the 2020-2021 shift on the fly tunes for $1200...

While I know this is a delete thread, there is usable info here... just gotta do your homework or PM someone.
