Thanks for the explanation, but the typical user isn't going to be computer-savvy enough or spend that kind of money/time to research the subject, especially when looking into something like a heavy-duty Duramax full delete kit for a more straightforward solution. As to those underground disposal places existing here, I don't see tuners here in the US getting vested in that and possibly facing huge fines from the EPA I'm no expert, but I think that's why the companies I have read about are in Canada. I'm not saying there aren't any here who do it, but I think they would be the exception, not the rule. I also think the newer 6.7s are advancing and getting cleaner with less EGR use and more DEF usage. I also want to see how the Speed of Air Technologies piston design advances and see if they get SEMA and CARB certification. They could help in getting the emissions components to last a lot longer in older trucks like mine. Just my 2 cents...
My buddy that just deleted his 15 used to know a guy here locally that did it... he went to a tuner in Canada instead. So I'm thinking his friend got out of it because of the EPA.
PHP Hydra is your best bet for the 2021 6.7, biggest community, and most proven long-term. GDP Tuning and Spartan Diesel are solid alternatives. Tuner Depot is hit or miss, SCT is just the device not the tune. Make sure whoever you pick has specific 2020+ 6.7 experience.
This is for you deleted guys who like to run the switch in 5 (race tunes) and wonder why your stock 6R140 and I'd imagine your 10R140 as well, burn up... language warning if that would offend you.
Not saying everyone that runs a deleted truck runs theirs in a race tune, but I'm imagining there are a few here...
Shy of buying a quality aftermarket built transmission made for more power and heavy use, looks like it's not a good idea to overload a factory transmission with a heavy power tune. Just saying. FYI only...
