I think so, but after last year it's not nearly as bad as it was. If we have something approaching "normal" this year, they may call it over.
We got another 1.5+ inch of rain today. last night it got pretty heavy at times. Woke up the SO anyway. Here's the total so far today and an update on yesterday.
It rained off and, on all night, last night. However, I was able to avoid getting drenched because I was able to stay under a roof for most of the hard stuff.
In my travels yesterday, I came upon a bad accident. It looked like three or four vehicles were involved. The Police were there with two motorcycle cops, and one SUV cop. The Fire department had a fire engine there, and there was one ambulance. As I continued past the scene, I heard the sirens of more ambulances. Three more showed up while I continued on. Sometimes it pays to be able to ride on the sidewalk as the street was already down to one lane due to temporary road crews doing something (I think they were there to trim the trees/bushes on the median.) Anyway, there was a Chevy Yukon (or GMC Yukon, hard to tell) that looked like an A-frame house. The frame was bent up in the middle, the back end was smashed in. In front of it was a small economy car of unknown make and model because both the front end and back end were crushed. In front of that was a Fresno City Ford F350 with the front end smashed in. It was one of those pickup truck frames with a contractor bed instead of a pickup bed. I did not see the vehicle that he ran into, so maybe it was able to hobble over to the gas station parking lot. However, I did see a smashed vehicle in the left lane that was blocked off for the construction crews, so maybe it was spun out of the way by the F350. The Yukon driver was on the sidewalk talking to (I assume) his insurance company because he was giving details of the accident to them. Of course, it could have been a call to his wife or another family member, I did not stay to find out, it was threatening rain, and I didn't want to be out too long. I saw an elderly gentleman being wheel away on a gurney, and nobody was in the economy car, so I guess that person was already in the ambulance that was there when I arrived. There were a ton of broken car parts scattered all over the road and some smaller pieces of plastic on the sidewalk. And you can't have an accident without looky loos. They were on the sidewalk on both sides of the street, and since it happened in front of a Target Store, there were quite a few in the parking lot. I don't think there were any fatalities, but I prayed that everyone was ok and not seriously injured.
That looks great. However, it will have to wait, as the number one priority is to get it back together and pass the smog test. Then I can work on upgrades for it.
Your first modification could be the stubby antenna. I did that and got worse reception. But I no longer have the huge whip getting mangled in car washes.
Mine doesn't even have an antenna. I have a stubby in my wish list on eBay. However, since I will only use my radio to play my music on a USB stick, I doubt I will buy it. That is of course the radio in it actually works.
