Cream sauce. Some call it a white sauce. In a lot of restaurants, it is the base for many dishes. Add white Italian cheese and it becomes Alfredo. Add yellow cheese, and it's mac & cheese sauce, or cheese dip. Add clams and it becomes clam chowder. Add chunks of sausage and bacon, it becomes a gravy. Add mushrooms, and it becomes cream of mushroom.
Cooking schools, and high end restaurants use a basic recipe of butter, flour, and cream. I've seen cooks use cornstarch and milk. Essentially, you get a thickened, white sauce base. Then add whatever else.
How is this important in life? It's not. Not for most of us. My ex spent $$$$$$$ at a culinary academy to learn this. I watched a cook do it once while sitting at the counter of an open kitchen restaurant. A spoonful of cornstarch in a pan. Poured in milk. Just milk. He whisked it as it heated up. Added salt & pepper. Then tossed in some noodles, garlic, and cheese. Garnish the plate with shrimp and parsley. Fettuccine Alfredo. $28.
Your ex spent a million dollars on culinary school? Wow! I like cream of mushroom soup. It can be used for quite a lot of things. Or, even by itself. I don't know about these local weather guessers. According to them it should be raining right now and continue until Thursday. However, we have barely had any rain these past twenty-four hours.
All of the Bible studies I go to have shut down for the holidays which leaves me extra free time on my hands this week. And with the four days of rain prediction, I did some extra grocery shopping Sunday after church. So, I will be indoors all week except Wednesday night from 6pm until 9pm when I volunteer as security for the church services. There are five Spanish church Bible studies that night as well as our Steadfast Youth group meeting. This Wednesday will be different in that our Sunday school kids will have one last practice for the kid's song and dance they will be performing on Sunday the 24th.
And according to the weather guessers, it looks like I will get wet that night. When I need to go out in the rain, I pin a Walmart plastic bag over the controls of the scooter to prevent any water from damage. And I have a short handled umbrella to keep me dry. There are quite a few places there that I can park to stay dry and still be able to watch the parking lot and the kids room.
Not raining here now, but there is evidence that it did rain sometime during the night. However, the sidewalk is already dry, so it must have happened hours ago. I don't usually hear the rain unless it starts raining hard.
Don't have it anymore. It is sunny and bright. No rain clouds anywhere. So much for four days of rain... I bet I know when it will rain the hardest and longest, tomorrow evening between 6-9pm. LOL
We were getting it steady all day yesterday, and all night last night. It's looking like we'll be getting more still.

I don't have any science to measure rain. I have 5 gallon buckets which are filling. My block was soaked. Roadways flooded all over The City. Freeways flooded also. I drove through a lot of high water. My figs are splitting open from all the rain. And it's warm. Over 60. I am cranking up the air conditioner.
My truck was involved in a collision. The insurance company wants to total the truck for about $10,000. I looked at the estimate for repair. The insurance adjuster believes that once they start with the initial work on the initial estimate, they will find more issues and the repair bill will skyrocket. Supposedly, once they tear off the front end, they usually find things like frame damage, damaged motor mounts, damaged crossmembers, drive shafts out of alignment, and there's a world of repairs with the lift kit and steering. I looked up the Kelly Blue Book. I'm thinking that I should cut my losses short and accept the total loss settlement.
